It didn't happen
It's just a dream
I didn't just come and witness this
Why?
How?
Why wasn't he moving?
Why wasn't he smiling?
He just laid there emotionless
Powerless
Like ice in a snowstorm
Why wasn't I there when he needed me?
Why wasn't I there when he needed my comfort?
Why wasn't I there when he took his last breath?
He just died alone
In the cold
With no one
No one to look after him
No one to keep him close and hug him
No one to be with him until his eyes slowly closed
No, he died with no one by his side
No one to tell him "It's okay"
No one to save him
There was no one
But a dying soul and the cruel blank world...
