Chapter 4- Hospital

Trigger Warning!

Demi and Ivan told me that they found a place up here in New York that they really like, so they decided to rent it. They'll be going to school here with Alex and I for the rest of the year! Two days past quickly now and today is Monday.

I put on my Of Mice & Men tank top with black skinny jeans, vans, and a beanie. I grabbed my bag and headed outside, kissing my Dad goodbye.

I walked out the door and noticed Alex sitting in his car waiting for me.

"Hello beautiful." Said Alex with a wink.

I sat in Math class, drawing in my notebook.

"Mr. Uh," of course I forgot his name again, "Mr. Uh Teacher man, can I go to the bathroom?"

"That's Mr.Mullins young lady, and no you may not."

"I am peeing right now."

"Just go." He scowled at me.

I walked out of the bathroom stall as a girl appeared behind me.

"Um can I help you?" I asked with one eyebrow raised.

"Why is your hair in front of your face? You emo skank."

"I don't know, why are you so moody? Are you PMSing?"

 And with that she grabbed my head and bashed it on the sink. She whipped up my head and through me to the ground kicking my ribs.

"Fat bitch! Kill yourself! No one needs you here. You're just a waste of space. You worthless piece of shit."

Everything went black and I couldn't see anything. Suddenly I heard Demi's voice and someone fall to the ground.

"Katie! Oh my god Katie open your eyes!" I opened my eyes slowly and saw Demi standing over me. There was another girl too, who I just couldn't recognize. I stood up quickly and noticed the girls body on the floor. I covered my face and ran.

I ran out of the school, on to the subway and all the way home. I couldn't feel my ribs.

I grabbed my scale and stood on it. I weighed 117 pounds. "No. No. No. No." I looked in the mirror and lifted  up my shirt. "She's right." I said with tears rolling down my cheeks. I dug through my drawers and found my hidden blades which I haven't used for over 3 years now. I slashed my wrist. Blood was dripping all over the floor.

After my wrist stopped bleeding, I bent over the toilet and binged. I sat there and cried over the toilet when I heard someone barge in my door.

"Katie? Katie where are you?" It was Alex. I didn't want him to see me like this.

Alex sat behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist. "Baby," you said lifting up my shirt, seeing my bruised ribs, "who did this to you?" A tear rolling down his cheek as he asked.

"Alexia." Demi said walking in with the girl who I had never seen before.

"Come on guys, we have to get her to the hospital." said the girl.

"Yeah," said Demi, "Ivan is outside with the car. He didn't want to come in and see you in pain."

 A smile came across my face as I stood up, "So who's she?" I asked looking at the girl.

"My name is Lily, I'm in your Geography class. You probably didn't notice me because you hardly look up in that class. But I noticed you. You are an amazing artist."

"Thank you."

"Alright Katie," said Alex lifting me up, "we have to get you to the hospital you are losing a lot of blood."

We made our way out to Ivan's car.

"Oh my god." Ivan got out of the car and took me from Alex. I gave him a tight hug. He put me in the car, and Alex jumped in. Demi and Lily rode in their cars and we all met at the hospital.

*Beep*Beep*Beep*

I opened my eyes slowly to see Ivan sitting at the foot of the hospital bed.

"Well hello there sleepy-head." Said Ivan with a smirk.

I opened my arms and shot him a pouting face. Ivan came over and gave me a tight hug.

"Promise me that you will be okay, Katie. I don't want to lose you." He gave me a slow long kiss. I saw out of the corner of my eye Alex had just walked in. He pulled Ivan up by the hood and pushed him against the wall.

"What the hell are you doing with Kate?!" He pushed Ivan agaist the wall again.

"Alex stop!" I demanded getting out of bed, pulling his fist back.

"Give me one reason why I shouldn't bash in your face." Said Alex to Ivan.

"Because if you do, you won't only be hurting me. You'll be hurting Katie too. Think of it, her long-life best-friend getting beaten by her boyfriend. Do you really want to do that to Katie?"

Alex slowly let down his fist and took his hands off of Ivan. I hugged Ivan even tighter than before, balling my eyes out.

"Why Alex? Why did you have to do this?" I asked with tears rolling down my cheeks.

"Why me, Katie? Why you, why did you kiss him? I just-" Alex began to clench his fist, "I just ugh." He had stormed out of the room.

"Katie, I am so sorry. I didn't me-"

"It's okay. It's okay."

Ivan smiled and whiped away my tears.

"Katie, you know, you're adorable as hell. But I'm glancing at your wrist." He said with a tear rolling down his cheek. "Please, please, please, please don't hurt yourself. You are so much more than a lifeless piece of metal." He kissed my scars on my skin. "You're beautiful Katie."
