Ricken was biting his nails, watching the front door to the mannor he inherited from his family. You were supposed to arrive at any moment. About three days ago the two of you visited the local orphanage Maribelle and Libra runned. Libra was talking to Ricken over tea about a baby girl they found on the doorsteps while you and Maribelle were helping Nowi find a wedding dress in her size. It's kind of hard for a pubescent bodied girl to find a dress after all. Libra showed Ricken the baby and instantly fell in love. She had large, beautiful mahogany colored eyes, dark purple tufts for hair, and softer than silk skin. Ricken wanted her, but he didn't know if you were ready for a baby in your lives. That's why today you were going to visit the orphanage and see what this baby girl was like. If you brought her home, she was yours and Ricken's to raise. If you came home without a baby, then you decided it wasn't time to raise a child. The fact Ricken had no idea what you were going to do drove him insane and back!

That's when the door opened. Light filled the room as his precious spouse walked in, cradling a soft lavender blanket in their Arms. You brought the little girl home. You had a smile on your face. You looked up at Ricken, beaming with pride. Even though the two of you technically didn't make her, you seemed so proud that you were even given the chance to hold her. Ricken rushed over to you, on his tippie toes, and hung in your shoulder to get a look at his new daughter. His eyes went wide and a grin spread over his face. She was sound asleep in his lavender blanket. She was cuddling a small toy that looked like a homemade teddy bear. Thank you Libra. Her little hand was wrapped around your index finger. He was just taking in the moment when your sweet whisper of a voice spoke to him.

"Libra said the name that came with her was Elise. Is that what you want to name her?"

Elise? That's such a pretty name, a name only fitting for a princess. Ricken watched as her tiny eyes fluttered open, the warm colored shade of brown meeting his own eyes. Ricken braced himself. He heard a lot from Maribelle, complaining how the babies would start bawling their eyes out when they wake up, but no. Baby Girl just woke up peacefully, gripping onto her other parent's index finger. Ricken felt his heart melt. This was going to be his princess, and his princess will be named Elise. Ricken looked up st your eyes, finding it extremely difficult to pry his gaze away from the baby. He had a determined look and proud smile as he nodded.

"Elise is the perfect name for her. I love it."

You closed the door behind you, forgetting that you both were standing in the doorway. You then walked over to the couch and sat down, cooing at the baby girl. Ricken follows you like the puppy dog husband he is. As he watched you play around with your daughter, laughing along with her, did the reality dawn on him. Ricken has no idea how to be a father. He just wanted her because she was so cute. Now that he has her, what is he going to do? How is he going to raise this beautiful baby girl into a strong, gorgeous, lovable woman? Ricken looked down at his hands. He really hit off a lot more than he could chew with this one, didn't he? As he's learned before, he can't solve any problem without voicing his concerns. Communication is the secret to any healthy relationship, kids. He kept his head down and voiced his concerns.

"Hey (name), I just realized... what if im a bad father? I have no idea what I'm doing. I don't know how to raise a little girl. What do I do?"

He felt your gaze shift from the baby to him. The second baby. Ricken lifted his head bashfully to watch your face. You watched him for a minute, then you looked up high at the ceiling. Elise started softly whining in your arms, so Ricken tried to do something before she started wailing like his childhood friend warned. Ricken leaned over and smiled at her, grabbing her hands. He then waved her hands around for her sillily. Elise just stared at him confused, her little eyebrows furrowing at what he was doing. Well, that was a major fail. Ricken let out a sigh and let her hands go. She just laid there, trying to figure out with her baby brain what the heck Ricken did. Whatever that was, it gave you an idea for Ricken's Daddy Dilemma.

"How about trial and error? Keep a Diary and write about what works and what doesn't. It could help you in the future. You know, remember the things Elise loves now and what she hates for when she grows up. I know Donnel kept a diary when he first became a part of the Shepards."

A diary? Well, that could be fun in a way? It would work with the way you explained it. So whatever he just did he could write to never do it again. Whatever that was. Ricken looked at precious baby Elise again. She was softly whining again. He watched as you gave her your index finger again, slipping it under her tiny fingers. Elise grabbed it and started calming down. That's another thing Ricken to write down. She likes holding onto fingers. Ricken smiled warmly and rested his head on your shoulder.

This is going to be one challenge that would be damn worth it in the end, huh?
