It was your first day at the glade and you were the only girl. You were starving and pissed off that no one would talk to you only behind your back so you walked over to pay a visit to Frypan you thought his name was or some cliché like that. You walked in only to find every Glader in there. You hadn’t even noticed that the glade was almost completely empty. As you walked in you saw everyone look and stare at you. Then one boy came up to you and said “ Hey girly if you need a tour tomorrow I know a great little place that you and I can be alone.” You were pissed, tired and hungry. You couldn’t remember much but you knew this kid wasn’t smart for taking you on right now so you flirted and said “you’re the one they call Gally right? Keeper of the builders.” He nodded so you told him to bend down so you could whisper something into his ear and he smiled back at the boys and when he did that you took a moment to scan the audience you two had gathered, no way you could take them all, and one boy caught your eye. You noticed he wasn’t smiling like the rest of the boys and you thought he looked worried a little then figured you just wished it so turned back to Gally just as he was bending over and so you acted by grabbing his ear and twisting your nail into it as he screamed and you pulled him outside the food court and placed your hands firmly behind his neck planting his face in your knee. When he stood you swung a right hook and he blocked it and landed you one in the gut as you double over and he leapt on you and pinned you down pulling your hair and banging your head to the ground. So you arched your back and lifted your legs sending him flying and so you tackled him down and pinned him throwing as many punches as you could, knocking him out in the process, when you realize Alby and a couple other boys are pulling you off his limp body. You look around and see the blond staring at you. He looked a bit impressed but mostly concerned. You shoot him a glare and he only smirked at you. Alby stayed behind to look after Gally but the other 2 boys dragged you to the Slammer and locked you in. You were so mad you just started screaming and breaking things taking a leg off a defenseless chair in the process and hitting the walls with your fists till they were bloody. You calmed enough to see someone in the shadows and so you stilled and saw that it was the blond so you practically yelled at him “ you want some too?” he just did that same stupid smirk. It was kinda cute but you wouldn’t tell him that. He walked into the shadows and said “what’s your name?” in a more sarcastic tone than you meant to. “Names Newt, Greenie.” You turned around you needed a plan to get away from him, from this place, you didn’t know where you would go with the maze and grievers out there but you had to run and get away. You slyly grabbed the leg you tore off the afore mentioned chair and luckily you thought this newt guy didn’t see so you made your move and went over to the bars only to be meet with the most stunning big brown eyes you ever saw. You stuck both hands out the bars high up enough for what you had planned and made conversation to distract him. “so how long am I gonna be in this um… shuck place. I said that right?” you said “good enough I guess. And Alby seems to think you should stay here till you cool off?” he replied “And you” you said slipping your spare hand around his neck “what do you think? Am I cooled off enough?” you made your move when you saw the keys around the belt loop of his pants. You planted your feet into the floor and swung the leg into him only to see that he had grabbed it without even taking his eyes off of you and smiled and said “I’m no expert but I don’t think someone who is cooled off tries to knockout the person with the key and power to keep you in this ‘shuck place’ the rest of your buggin life so slim it.” What really got you was he never raised his voice once in that whole time. “I think someone needs a night to cool off.” And with that he walked out. “you will pay you stupid shuck face!” you yelled after him and went back to screaming and breaking things and eventually you calmed down and just sat there the rest of the night until Alby and Newt came to pay you a visit in the morning Alby started on a speech about order and obedience and something about sparing you because you were new and a girl but not next time. All this while you were wondering if Newt had told Alby about last night. You figured he probably had. It seemed his style you thought even though you just meet this shank. As your mind drifted Alby snapped his fingers in your face and asked if you had heard and understood him. And you nodded and he walked out. He had said all sorts of stuff about Gally but nothing about Newt. “ you didn’t tell Alby?” you say indifferently he walked over to the bars and said “ you dug a deep and shuck hole with Gally yesterday and so before I let you out tell me you will keep away from” you cut him off saying “ I can take care of myself thank you very much. I don’t need some kind of big brother to look after me.” He pulled the key out of his pocket and you noticed it wasn’t the ones on the belt loop after all so you shot him a glare and he gave a forced smile. He did look genuinely worried and when the doors were open you stormed out for your dramatic exit. You open the main door and come face to face with Gally. You start to push past him but he grabs your upper arm and whispers in your ear “no one does that to me and gets away with it. Especially not some shuck girl like you.” As he finishes Newt comes out and you wrap your arm in his and walk away whispering “just go with it for a minute.” And walk off a ways and then turn to face Newt and kiss him gently and then say “see you later babe” loud enough that Gally can hear and walk off. Newt was still dazed from the kiss and you looked over at Gally who had a look of terror, confusion and jealousy looking from you to Newt still dazed. You turn to go to the food court, laughing at how easy these boys could be played, you were starved from no food for almost a whole day. You sit at a table and eat a sandwich and apple. You are almost done when you see Newt coming your way smiling and smiled a pathetic smile at him. He came and sat next to you back to the table looking you right in the eyes. Man he had awesome eyes and his hair was so gorgeous you could just imagine cuddling with him running your fingers through his hair and then snapped out of it the he asked “what was that about back there?” you almost choked on your food and said “What? Well that was me doing 2 things 1: getting away from Gally without being murdered and 2: me taking my revenge on you for last night because now Gally thinks you stole me from him so he will go after you now and I will get off free and clear.” You looked at him and his smile faded and he looked disappointed you almost felt bad, almost, so you placed your finger under his chin and kissed him then stood and grabbed your trash placing it on your plate. He looked cheery again and he said “what was that for then?” you smirked and said “well that was because you look kinda cute when your sad.” He stood and you said “besides I still need a tour of this buggin place.” He smiled huge showing off his white teeth so you smiled back sure the two of you looked like a couple of little kids. But it didn’t matter you loved to feel happy and to smile after these last to klunk days.
