That Nerd Has Gone Bad

Chapter 31

    "The nurse said we can go up now." Ryan said to me after he finished speaking to the nurse."By the way can we hurry up? Hospitals make me wanna gag.."

"This is no time to gag! Let's go." I said pulling Ryan by his shirt upstairs. We looked around quickly."Um which room is hers?"

"Um I think the lady said 34B..or something like that." Ryan said raising his eyebrows at an old man attempting to steal some peanuts from the food cart while the worker had his back turned.

"Jeez Ryan! Stop staring at the old man! You are acting like you would never steal some darn peanuts from the cart!" I shook my head and walked down the hallway trying to find 34B. 31B, 32B, 33B...here we are! 34B."This way Ryan."

"I'm sorry but Reyna..that nurse is really hot. I think I should go greet her and ask her if she needs an assistant." Ryan smirked and raised his eyebrows at the nurse pushing the cart. I made a face and smacked him across the head.

"Honestly Ryan, she is way too old for you! Would you stay focused here? I'm really afraid to walk into this room. I mean Sydney practically hates me!" I massaged my temples. Ryan rolled his eyes and opened the door pushing me into the room, I tumbled inside and fell on the floor.

"Um..miss? Are you okay there?" I heard a voice say. I looked up and saw a doctor, nurse, Sydney and her mom staring at me with confused looks on their faces. 

"I uh...me..I..f-fell." I said slowly getting up."Er..I actually just came to see Sydney because I heard she was in the hospital so I was a bit concerned."

"Thanks Reyna..come sit." Sydney said softly. Oh my god she actually let me stay! Hallelujah! I gasped and nodded my head quickly, running over to the empty seat and sitting down...a little too quickly. The doctor gave me a strange look but continued with what he was saying.

"Okay anyway, it seems as if you got poisoned, Sydney. Thankfully it wasn't strong enough to kill you but it was the reason for your dizzyness. We aren't sure what type it is but we'll work on that." He said. After checking Sydney to make sure everything is working fine, he left.

"Sydney exactly how did you manage to get poison in your system?" I asked quietly. I mean I don't think Sydney would just casually drink some poison like that. 

"Well after I ate that muffin that Jacelyn and Morgan gave me, I felt kinda of dizzy...oh god.." Sydney said, her eyes becoming wide."They tried to kill me!"

"Those girls you were having the sleepover with?! Where are they now?" Sydney's mom asked with a panick look on her face. Sydney shrugged and looked at me."We have to find them! They just can't get away with this! I need to go over to the their homes and speak to their parents!"

"Okay mom..before we start throwing fists here..we should figure out why they wanted to kill me." Sydney said. 

"Right. Well we are gonna have to speak with them to find out. Are you hungry, hun? I'm gonna go buy something for you then we can talk about this." Sydney's mom said."Oh and nice to meet you. Thanks for being here for Sydney." She said to me before leaving the room.

"Sydney, remember when I said that Blake was cheating on you with Morgan?.." I asked quietly, backing away a little because I remember that very hard slap I had gotten the last time I spoke about this. Sydney's face went blank and she started to turn pale."No don't turn into a ghost just yet to haunt me!"

"Reyna..you weren't lying were you?" She said. I shook my head and she frowned slightly, tears welling up in  her eyes."I'm so sorry..I mean the reason why I was ignoring you and treating you so bad was because Jacelyn told me that she loved Andrew and that she only kissed Zayden because Kaylee made her do it." A tear slid down Sydney's cheek and she sniffed."But now that I realize that Jacelyn and Morgan tried to hurt me..and that Morgan has my boyfriend now I feel kind of stupid for doing that to you."
