The Garden of Err was the oasis in the barren desert of life. It was seated just outside the jurisdiction of Eden county police office perfect for the folks who wanted to live their best lies outside the prying eyes of society. The cops took three times the amount of time to respond to a call out here so if the DA that needed to authorize a search warrant happened to be in attendance. She had enough time to gather herself and be home just before her phone started to ring.

Inside the scent of sin was palpable. It hung onto the patrons like an extra layer of skin. The dimly lit lights casted blue shadows across everyone faces giving them the courage to become whoever they wanted to be. Or maybe it was the liquor, either way no one came here looking to be the person they were before they stepped past the threshold.

"Lani, you got about 30 minutes baby girl." Mark popped into the room to inform her as she fastened her shoes snuggly around her ankles.

"I'll be out in 5." She answered over her shoulder.

The woman swayed to the music as she felt the vibrations from the bass through the soles of her shoes. The sound drew her toward the mirror where she made sure her face was in order before sliding the silk coverup off her shoulder. Once she was sure that her makeup was in order she chugged the last of the drink that sat beside her vanity space and exited the room.

The sound of her heels making contact with the ground, as the music rang throughout the entire club was sending her senses into a frenzy. The usual playful glint in her eyes was replaced with mischief. Her hips swayed invitingly as she took each step. Leilani was finally out to play for the night.

As she graced the floor with her presence she made eye contact with mark across the room and gave him a small nod. She was officially clocked-in.

I am not seeking approval

I'm number one, I tell bitches what to do

He heard I'm creole, he think I know voodoo

"Bitch I will twist yo ass up like a noodle." She rapped along to The Stalli as she made her way toward the bar.

"Lemme get the house special Jay." She ordered once she made it to the counter.

Most of the girls in the club enjoyed a glass of liquor but a few couldn't handle that. So the owner created a few drinks on the menu just for them. The "House special" for the girls was a short glass of water on ice. The "Err" a glass of coke with a dash of vanilla flavoring. All non-alcoholic unbeknownst to the men that offered to keep their cups flowing.

Jay gave her a quick nod as he poured the unlabeled bottle into a glass over ice. Just as she was about to tell him to put it on her tab a gentleman from across the way picked up the bill.

"Baby girl you ain't been out here five minutes." Jay spoke over the music before setting the glass down in-front of her.

"What can I say?" She replied with a wink before walking over to the man that paid for her drink.

"You didn't have to do that." Lani mused as she took a small sip from the glass in her hand. A small moan escaped her lips as the water hydrated every dried up tissue in the back of her throat.

"Not pay for a beautiful woman's drink at the bar?" He quipped.

"Damnit, I can't argue with what logic." She giggled, playfully swatting a hand playfully at his thigh.
