Inko Midoriya, proud mother of one, had not seen her child in years.

The day her child had gone missing was the worst in her life.

It had started out like any other day. Waking up for breakfast, dropping Izuku off to school for the day. There was nothing, no indication at all, no subtle feeling of dread or creeping fear- everything was as it should be, until it wasn't.

It was no cataclysmic event. Izuku just simply vanished. He was at school one moment, and at the next the teachers were frantically searching for a boy who would not be found for another ten years.

And now here he was, held in front of her, wrapped up in capture gear like some sort of Christmas present.

Inko slowly approached her child, her hand reaching out to touch his cheek. To assure herself that this was real.

But she staggered back as her son released an animalistic growl at her, baring his teeth.

Inko cupped her hands over her mouth, sniffling. "My poor baby."

Mr. Aizawa frowned at the whole interaction. "It looks like some... Re-education will have to happen before he can be given back to you, Mrs. Midoriya."

Inko only whimpered.

...
...

The constant moving around after seeing the small green woman made Deku dizzy.

One moment he was in the white room with the uncomfortable bed, the next he was in a room with a huge desk and some kind of rodent sitting behind it.

And then, of all things that could happen, the rodent spoke! With words!

Deku was so stunned that he barely registered the vest and dress shirt the mouse thing was wearing.

Maybe it shouldn't have been as much as a surprise, seeing how there were dog people and cat people, but still.

The mouse man went on about a rehabilitation program, and that the man who had captured Deku (apparently his name was Aizawa) was to be the head of the operation.

"I already have an entire class of brats to take care of, and now you want to dump another one on me?"

The mouse held up his paws in a placating manner. "Now, now, Aizawa. Think of it as a learning experience for them. You know, get them even more prepared for the real world."

Aizawa seemed to ponder this before sighing. "Fine. Come on Izuku."

Deku scowled at him. It wasn't like he had a choice. Under his breath, he muttered, "Deku's name Deku. No 'Zuku."

Aizawa ignored him.
