-Leah-

"Master Vaun is waiting for your presence."

I stare at the ceiling, not anything in particular. I can't think, but I have a itch in the back of my head. My short circuit.
I stand not wanting Master Vaun to wait any longer.
I walk to his room full of tools and machines.
He's sitting on his chair while fixing a memory outlet.
He faces me and smiles and sets down his pliers.
"Hello Leah take a seat."
He pats a chair next to him and I sit down.
"Okay so I sent you out last time and what happened?"
"I was attacked."
"Now I don't need you getting damaged anymore, okay?"
"Yes."
He cocks his head to the side and moves my hair out of the way of my neck.
"Okay so, this might sting a little bit, but I need to check your circuit."
"Master Vaun I can not feel pain."
He chuckled, then looked me in the eyes.
"Maybe not yet, but when you do, I want you to know the world is a cruel place, do you understand?"
"Yes Master Vaun."
"Good."
He starts reworking my circuits.
He works on me, as I look at him, he's young, too young to be this experienced with handy work like this.
He's about twenty-two.
"Alright all done, now stay out of trouble, I need you to go to the market for me."
"Anything in particular?"
"Uh yea, a ramen cup."
"Yes Master Vaun I shall return soon."
"Okay."
As I was leaving Master Vaun called from his room.
"Stay out of trouble!"
I left the workshop, in search of a market.
As I was walking on the streets I seem to come across a man with little clothes on and a cardboard sign.
Asking for 'Help'.
Strange is he in need of assistance?
I shall help him, it is the way of my programming.
To assist those in need.
I bend down to his level.
"Excuse me sir, are you in need of help?"
He looks at me mortified.
"No! And I definitely don't need help from you!"
"My apologies sir, your sign said 'In need of help'."
He shakes his head vigorously back and fourth.
"No! No!"
I stand back up and continue walking.
The grocery store is in sight.
I enter the store and was greeted by the cashier.
I step over to the aisles, searching for the Ramen.
As I was looking a young male pushed past me.
"Stupid bots."
He started twitching slightly.
And continued on his way.
I found the container of ramen, and head to the register when I was stopped to find the man that pushed passed me holding a gun to the cashier.
"Hurry the fuck up."
The cashier was frantically putting Steors into the mans hand.
"Come on I don't got all day!"
"Sorry sir."
I should stop the situation.
Master Vaun's words pass through my head once more.
'Stay out of trouble!'
I must stop the situation, but I can not disobey an order.
An alarm goes off.
"Fuck! I said don't touch anything!"
The cashier shakes his head back and forth.
"I'm sorry I didn't-"
The man with the gun points the pistol right at the cashier and pulls the trigger.
The sound fades.
While blood was sprayed on all of the back wall.
"Damn it."
He turns his head towards me.
"Shit!"
He then hits me.
I stumble backwards.
He hits again.
'Stay out of trouble."
He keeps plummeting me to the ground.
Probably trying to ruin my memory chip.

"Defend yourself, why should you be hurt?"

"Who is that?" I wonder for the first time.
