Today was the day. The day every kid across the world waited for. The day that celebrates cavities and horrors, which also happened to be Dean Winchester's favorite holiday. Halloween.

...

Dean stood in front of his mirror, scanning over his costume for the third time. For this year, he decided to be his true self; a hunter. With his demon blade, angel knife, salt, leather jacket, holy water, and his dad's journal, Dean was set. He loved Halloween because it was the only day he could be himself without people judging him or calling him a freak. With a final nod, Dean set off to the kitchen to get Sam.

Sam, unlike Dean, absolutely despises Halloween, but he won't tell anyone why. The only reason he puts up with it is because Gabriel, his best friend, loves candy and tricks.

Once Dean got downstairs he snuck up behind Sam, who was reading, and screamed 'Happy Halloween' as loud as he could. Sam jumped up from the couch and went into full on fight mode. When he realized it was only Dean he rolled his eyes and went to the car. Dean calmed down from laughing and followed behind him. Sam was already in the front seat, his bitch face still present. Dean only chuckled as Sam crossed his arms and started the drive to Sam's school. As they neared the school there was loud music and decorations everywhere. Sam was still looking a bit mad so Dean gave him his demon knife so he could see least say he tried dressing up.

"Come on Sammy. It's Halloween. Go bobbing for apples and steal candy from strangers with your friends." Dean said. Sam nodded and got out of the car.

"Hey," Dean called, "if you aren't having a good time just call me. I'll pick you up and we can go home and watch horror movies." Sam gave him a small smile and headed to the school. Dean made sure Sam entered the school before driving to Castiel Novak's house.

The drive was pretty short since Cas only lived a few blocks from the middle school. He parked in the driveway and walked up to the door. Cas's house was barely decorated; just a single toy spider hanging on the door. Cas's family was very religious so they didn't celebrate Halloween. And since Cas couldn't go trick-or-treating with the other kids, Dean decided to bring the party to him.

He rung the doorbell and a few seconds passed before Cas's mom, Becky, opened the door. She gave Dean a warm smile before stepping aside and letting him in.

"Hello Dean. Castiel is just up in his room." she said.

"Thank you Mrs. Novak." Dean replied with a smile. He then headed to Cas's room and opened the door. Cas was sitting at his desk drawing something. Dean tiptoed behind him and placed both hands on his shoulders. Cas threw his pencil off the desk and yelped. Dean laughed at Cas's reaction.

"That wasn't very nice Dean." Cas said. Dean looked at him, tears in his eyes from laughing so much, and shrugged.

"It might not have been nice, but it was funny." Cas rolled his eyes and playfully shoved Dean.

"So Cas, if you could have dressed up today, what would you have been?" Dean asked. Cas thought for a moment and shrugged.

"I don't know Dean. I don't really think about Halloween that much. You know how my parents are."

"But I'm not asking your parents. I'm asking you." Dean replied, smirking. Cas smiled and shook his head.

"I don't think I would have dressed up even if I were allowed to. I just don't understand why people would be something they're not." Dean nodded. He understood where Cas was coming from.

"Well, I'm using Halloween to my advantage. I'm showing my true self." Dean said, guesturing to his costume.

"Come on Cas, it's safe. Why don't you show your true self?" Cas's eyes widened and he quickly shook is head.

"I can't Dean. It's too risky."

"Come on, people will just think it's a cool costume." Cas bit his lip and nodded. Dean grinned.

"I can convince your mom to let you go trick-or-treating with me tonight." Cas snorted.

"Yeah, sure." In the blink of an eye Dean was rushing downstairs, looking for Mrs. Novak. He finally found her in the kitchen, watching a baking video.

"Hello Mrs. Novak. I was wondering if you would let Cas come with me tonight and walk around the neighborhood. We won't go up to any houses, we'll just look at the decorations. I promise." Becky thought about it for a minute before sighing and nodding.

"Yes, he can go. Only because he's never had a proper Halloween before. Just don't tell Chuck." Dean smiled and ran upstairs to Cas's room.

"She said no, didn't she." Cas said. Dean leaned against the doorframe and smirked.

"Actually, she said yes." Dean said.

"Really?"

"Yup! Now let's go." Dean grabbed Cas's hand and dragged him down the stairs and out the door, not even giving him time to say bye to his mom. He pulled Cas to the end of the street and turned a corner into a darker street.

"Come on Cas. No one can see you."
Cas looked around before sighing and closing his eyes. He focused on his back and after a few moments, big black wings formed. Cas ruffled them a bit then let them hang.

You see, when Becky and Chuck's son was born, something went wrong. The umbilical cord had wrapped around his neck, blocking the oxygen flow and almost caused him to die from lack of oxygen. Becky and Chuck prayed for their son to be safe, and fortunately their prayers were answered. Castiel, an angel, came down and presented himself to Becky and Chuck, saying that he could save their son. After they agreed, Cas tried healing him, but it was already too late. The only way for their son to stay alive was if Cas stayed. Becky and Chuck agreed and Cas whipped their memories. It would have been dangerous if they knew that he was an angel. Dean only knew he was an angel because he was a hunter and hunter's have to recognize an angel when they see one.

"Here, let me help." Dean offered. He outstretched his hand and brushed his fingers through Cas's feathers. Cas sighed and closed his eyes, enjoying the treatment. They stayed like that for a few minutes, Dean running his fingers through Cas's feathers and Cas sighing softly in content. After all of the feathers were straightened, Dean retracted his hand, Cas immediately missing his touch.

"There. Now they're perfect. Like you." Cas blushed as Dean's compliment and placed a gentle kiss on his cheek. Dean held his hand out for Cas and Cas smiled, taking his hand and lacing their fingers together. They walked around the neighborhood, making small comments on really decorated houses, but mostly about random stuff like bees and which pie is the best. However, that changed when Dean started talking about the future.

"What do you want to do after high school Cas?" Cas stopped walking, making Dean stop as well since their hands were still intertwined.

"Cas?"

"I think about the future a lot, Dean."

"Oh yeah? What do you see?"

"In every scenario, you are always in it. I've always pictured my future with you, Dean." Dean smiled at Cas's words and pulled him close for a small, passionate kiss.

"I think of the same thing, Cas." Now they were both grinning like idiots in the middle of a street, surrounded my kids.

"Olani hoath ol, Cas." Cas smiled widely and kissed Dean again.

"I love you too, Dean."
