Poem from a Dreamer

I dream that I can fly

That gravity, I can defy

I want to travel the world, through oceans and desert

Fall in a healthy, innocent love, don't want to get hurt

Have my dreams come true

The blue sky I drew and in the wind, I blew

I wish...

Not for fish or to wash a dish

But, to be able to be who I am

I seriously do NOT want to be called Ma'am

But instead Dreamer

Or maybe, because of my loud voice, a screamer

So you see, all the things a dreamer can come up with

Believe me, all I said isn't a myth

It's all the kinds of things I want

My excitement, I don't have to flaunt

All I gotta do is reach inside my mind

And there I'll find...

A Dreamer's thoughts, feelings, and desires

Now, with that, I aim to fly higher
