I thanked the cashier at the counter and grabbed the paper bag containing my newly bought CD’s. I walked out of the music store and tugged at my jacket sleeve to keep it from falling off of my shoulder as my combat boots were hitting the pavement as I started walking to my house. About a half of a mile later, I came up to the dirt road that led to my house. I bit my lip, and walked down the road kicking at small rocks and dancing to the beat of a song in my head.

When I was about halfway up the dirt road, I stopped in my tracks. I had the feeling that something or someone was watching me. I turned and looked out among the many, many trees that bordered the dirt road. Leaning against one of the many trees was a guy. He was quite far away so, I couldn’t really see what he looked like but, I could tell that the color of his eyes were a bright red, and that he was looking right at me.

I started to walk again, picking up my pace. I was honestly hoping, and praying that the guy wouldn’t follow me. I was kind of freaked out to be honest. The dirt road that led to my house was kind of alone. The next house would be like an hour long walk.

When I finally got home, once I had walked in the door, I quickly shut and locked it. I was becoming paranoid now. I then walked into the art gallery that is my room and put the CD’s that I had bought on my music shelf. I walked over to my bed and sat down on it, and pulled out my sketchbook from underneath the mattress and continued to work on my drawing of a tattoo idea that I had.

When I was just about done with my drawing, my stomach let out the most obnoxious Chewbacca noise, rolling my eyes, I got up and walked to my kitchen and made myself a sand-which and grabbed a pop. I went and sat at the table that was in front of my glass door which led to my balcony. When I was done eating, I walked out onto my balcony and looked out at the beautiful forest and mountains that I was lucky to have in my view. But, the guy that I had seen when I was walking earlier was leaning against another tree. This time, I could see what he looked like.

He was wearing a grey hoodie with the hood up so it covered most of his dark brown hair. He had black pants on with black combat boots, and I could see his red eyes looking up at me.

I quickly looked away thank god I was on the second floor. I grabbed my plate and put it in the dishwasher and grabbed my laptop that was on the table and carried it into my room. I grabbed my notebook that I had also hidden under my mattress and continued to work/learn on the codes that I had been learning for months. It was an ancient code, not really anyone knows it anymore, and it hasn’t been used for hundreds of years.

About an hour later of working on the codes, I heard a knock at my door, quickly shutting my notebook and shoving it back under my mattress, I got up and walked downstairs to my front door. I looked through the peep hole and saw three men wearing black, it was really sketchy.

Next thing I know, one of the men rammed his whole body into the door causing it to break and sending me flying back, and causing me to hit my back on the wooden stairs. I got up as fast as humanly possible and dashed up the stairs and into my room. I shut and locked the door praying that it would buy me some time. I grabbed my sketchbook and the notebook with the codes and shoved them along with pencils and other supplies into my messenger bag.

I slung my bag over my shoulder and opened the door to my room and dashed to my kitchen. Surely I could escape from my balcony. I felt my self being jerked back by the collar of my jacket and then I was pushed into the glass door of my balcony. I heard some of the glass shatter and I shrieked at the pain in my back. Glass shards were all over the floor and I felt a shard cut the palm of my hand.
