When I woke up, I had both of my arms completely wrapped around Evan's torso, with my head on his shoulder with his head leaning on mine.
I smiled ever so slightly and then nudged Evan awake. He lifted his head off of mine and we both sat up. "Morning" I said rubbing the sleep out of my eyes. "Morning" he replied giving me a small smile.
I smiled back and as I did that, my stomach let out the most ridiculously loud growl that it could have made. Which made my cheeks flush from embarrassment.
Picking up his sword and sheath, Evan stood up and held out his hand to help me up. Cautiously accepting it, he pulled me up to my feet and handed me my bag. "Let's go get you something to eat" he said smirking.
We walked out of the old museum and walked until we reached a small coffee shop. I walked in first, Evan following my footsteps behind me as if he were a guard dog.
We sat down at a small table for two and ordered some breakfast. As we ate we were careful not to draw any attention to ourselves and ate in silence. After we ate, we payed and walked back to the museum and I dug out my notebook and pencil and read over the codes and such for about an hour or two, while Evan went and looked around the place. And by the time he came back, I felt like my brain was literally full with information.
I put my stuff back into my bag and looked towards Evan. "I want to go home" I mumbled, pulling my legs up to my chest. I hadn't had my house for very long, maybe two years at the most, and I hated leaving it. It was my own personal art studio that I had spent so long working on and I feel like it had all gone to waste.
I heard a small sigh come from Evan's mouth, "I don't know about that". Sadly, that was the answer I had expected, it wasn't safe anymore. Whoever the hell was after me, knew where I had lived and now, I'm forced to hide in this old museum with a random guy I barely know, not that it's a bad thing, I mean I'm sure he's a great guy, I just don't know him.
"Can I at least go back and get a shower and some of my other clothes?" I asked quietly, not knowing how he'd react. I heard footsteps walk over to me and soon enough, Evan slid down and sat next to me. "Sure, and maybe we can find some other place other than this dump" he said smirking.
I half smiled, relieved to be going home, even just for a little while. Evan got up, and I grabbed my bag and Evan held out his hand offering to help me up, which I somewhat hesitantly accepted.
We left the museum in the early afternoon and started walking through the town. Stopping only occasionaly to look at the displays of the stores. As we continued to walk, I felt my legs getting tired from carrying my body through the long walk.
When we finally arrived at my house, I trudged up to my room and had to refrain from flopping over on my bed and passing out. Instead, I grabbed an outfit to wear for when I got out of the shower and grabbed another bag down from my closet so I could put clothes and other basic necessities inside. After I did that, I went into my bathroom and took a hot shower, letting the stress of what has happened, wash away.
After my shower, I put all of my bathroom stuff into a bag that I could bring with me. I got dressed into my dark grey skinny jeans with a black tank top and a loose tshirt over that along with my combat boots of course.
I walked into the living room to find Evan sitting down on the couch. I walked over to my kitchen table, with the glass of the window crunching underneath my boots as I walked. I grabbed my broken laptop, being careful not to touch the screen where it had gotten smashed. I sighed, and walked it over to the trash and put it in. I had saved up for months to buy that and now it was a gonner.
I trudged my feet along until I found myself at the couch and plopped myself down and curled into a ball. "You alright?" I heard Evan ask me. I rolled over to the side so he couldn't see my watery eyes, "Yea, I'm just tired" I said knowing he wouldn't believe me. Because who believes that lie anymore?
I found myself being lifted up and held against a chest. I slowly relaxed knowing it was Evan but was still tense about that. "You were shaking" He explained as he held me close to him. I didn't say anything, that's only because I didn't feel the need to. We were both silent, sitting there just breathing quietly letting the somewhat peaceful energy of the house calm me down.
Evan gently rubbed my back while we were there in silence. It was a small gesture, but it did mean a lot to me. It was a way of him letting me know he was there for me as this was all happening.
Eventually when I felt calm enough, I got up and walked to the kitchen to grab some Ramen and cook it for us. Evan got two bowls and two forks and filled them with the cooked Ramen and took them into the living room for me since I was cleaning the mess I had made whilst cooking it.
We sat and talked until I could see the moon light through the window. We had finished eating a while ago and so we had talked about where we could go and hide out next. I went into my room a short while after and packed clothes and money and other stuff I knew I'd need.
And then I remembered. When I was a bit younger, I used to help out on a farm with the horses and animals, and there was a decent sized house on the property that I used to occasionally spend the night at. It was a good distance away from the town, and it was very secluded, like it was practically in the middle of nowhere. Plus, no one lives there anymore. It's been abandoned for about 3 years.
"Erm, hey, Evan?" I called out. I heard footsteps coming towards my room and soon stopped. "Yeah?" I heard him say as I turned around to look at him. "I may have a place we can stay" I said. I explained to him about the abandoned farm and soon saw him smirk and he mumbled under his breath.
"I'm sorry, what was that?" I questioned turning to look at him. He turned and faced me, his red eyes looking into mine, gently grabbed my face and kissed my forehead. "Brilliant!" He proclaimed as he pulled me into a hug as I felt my cheeks grow red from blushing.
