Nobody really knew what was going on. Time had just... stopped. Especially for Chris. She had just started to fall for and open up to someone, only for her to up and get shot. What was she suppose to do? How was she suppose to feel? Was she suppose to be angry? Was she suppose to spend her days locked away, crying?

As she sat in the very uncomfortable hospital chair with tears streaming down her face, she thought about her life. About how she had gotten here. About what all she could've done and how she could've prevented certain things from happening. She wasn't stupid. Maybe a little slow on occasions, but not stupid. She knew things that others may have thought or hoped she didn't. Some of the shit Chris knew about wasn't even knowledge she wanted.

There would be times where she would just piece shit together and throw the piece of new found information in a mental filing cabinet. Like how she saw Betty jump out of the Toyota Supra on its first pass through the neighborhood. The girl walked into the house across the street and didn't come back out. Chris didn't think anything of it at first, until she brought the car to King's attention and saw the girl watching them through the upstairs window. But it was too late. King had made her go into the closet where she was forced to wait while Amber went through the gun cases she'd found.

Meagan sat in the chair next to her, crying her eyes out, while Amber sat on the floor in between Chris's legs. Why she didn't just sit in the open chair on the opposite side of Chris, nobody knew nor understood. Not that any of them really cared. Everyone was more worried about the girl they had been dragged away from almost 3 and a half an hours prior. Chris's legs bounced up and down in the uncomfortable chair until she saw a nurse emerge from a back room. Her expression was a sad one and her head hung low.

"Kaymari Blackwell?" She called. They all rose from their seated positions and walked toward the pale woman. She looked very nervous, her sweaty hands shaking the clipboard she clutched.

Right when she was about to speak, Maddy-, well, 'Doni' and a man were seen charging down the hallway. Chris stared at the man, having never seen the man before. He was light, tall and well built. Broad shoulders, muscular arms and legs. The man looked as if he basically lived in the gym.

"I've been trying to get ahold of you guys for the longest before Amber told me that you guys were here. What happened?" Doni asked, trying to catch her breath. Nobody spoke.

Doni just looked around, only then noticing that her partner in crime was nowhere to be seen.

"Where's King?"

It was silent once again before Meagan let out a sob. Everyone was very distraught and discombobulated, but Chris couldn't help but feel a weird sting on the side of my face. She looked around and noticed that the man had been staring at her. Hard. His mouth was slightly open and his eyes were wide.

'O-...kay...?' She thought. 'Weirdo'

The nurse cleared her throat and everyone got quiet and looked her way.

"I am so sorry, but we were too late. She passed an estimated ten minutes before her body got here. Her stomach was punctured by a bullet, but the cause of de-"

After that Chris had stopped listening. There was no point. Everything just went blank. She could see, but she couldn't hear. She could feel, but couldn't express. Every ounce of her wanted to yell out. To scream and cry. To beg every living being out there to return her King. But nothing came. Her tears had dried up, along with her throat. She didn't know what to do, but she knew what she wanted to do.

Chris's feet began to move, drawing her away from the situation. The heat that radiated from her body seemed to unsettle many of the silent onlookers, but she didn't care. She was ready to go and cause hell. Right before she could reach the door, a hand grabbed hold of her left arm, and pulled her toward them. As if she couldn't get any more angry. Chris swiftly yanked away from the person, only to realize that it was the man.

"Look, I don't know who the fuck you think you are, but I would advise you to keep your hands to yourself. You don't know me, and I damn sure don't know you." She scolded the man. Her fists clinched at her sides. She didn't care how big he was, she was ready to take flight.

"On the contrary, Little One. I know you very well." He returned.

"Oh really? How?" Chris challenge.

"Well, you see... I'm your father, Christina, as you are my daughter. I have been looking for you for some time now."

Chris froze. This has GOT to be a joke. Her head began to throb and she couldn't see straight. Before she knew what she was doing, she had punched the man as hard as she could in his stomach. The man groaned, hunching over her shoulder.

"You are not my father. And if you ever even think about coming near me again I will end you where you stand." She whispered. Doni, Amber, and Meagan watched silently. Waiting.

Chris let the man go and sped her way out of the hospital and back to King's house. She was gonna find out who did this and why. She was gonna avenge her King in any and every way she could. She didn't deserve to go out like this.

They're all gonna pay!
