"Psst, Asher" Danny whispered, tapping my shoulder. I was about to turn around when Mr. Goldings said "Daniel, what do you think youre doing?" Danny just sat there looking at Mr. Goldings for a bit, "Well, you see sir Im completely lost so i was about to ask Asher for help" he lied. Thats Daniel Greene for you, the perfect liar and my best friend since sixth grade. "Okay, just dont interupt my class again" Mr.Goldings said and turned back around to the board and started back from where he left off. I turned around so i was facing Danny, "Yea?" I ask him. He looks at me and pulls out a piece of paper and starts to write.
After hes done writting he passes the paper to me and it reads: 'Football practice with me?' I let out a slight laugh and start to write, 'Will Cassie be there?' and pass it back to him. I start to actually pay attition to Mr.Goldings for the first time since Sophmore year has actually started. When the bell rings I get up and head to my locker, as im on my way Danny stops me. I turn an see him holding the paper we were writting on, he hands it to me and walks away. Making my way to my locker i open it, 'No Cassie wont be there. Just you and i' it read.
I wanted to beleieve him, i really did but everytime he said that itd just be us Cassie would some how find her way to crash our plans. So i just crumbled up the paper and opened my locker with force. "Danny again?" asked my best friend Lilliath. I slamed my locker and turned to face her, "Of course its Danny! Its always Danny! Hes just and open book of lies" I tell her on our way to Bio. "Whatd he do this time?" my brother Miles asks joining us right as we reach the door.
Me and Miles arent twins we were just born two months apart so we are pretty close. "What didnt he do!?" I say taking my seat and pulling out my notes. Miles comes and sits on my left while Lilliath sits on my right. "Well anyway you have to come to my football practice" Miles said pulling out his notes as well. I nod but roll my eyes because that means Danny will think im there to watch him, which i will be, but still.
"Okay class pull out your Bio books and turn to page 264" Mrs. Greene announced, and yes she is Danny's mom. Danny came in late as he usually does for this class, "Daniel this is the third time this week that youve been late to my class. So youll be spending an hour in detention after school" Mrs.Greene says pulling out the ugly yellow looking slips that our detentions are on. "But mom! I have to stop by Miles' after school to grab my cleats" Danny said coming up with a lame excuse that Mrs.Greene will never buy. She gave him the death glare and handed him the paper, "Its Mrs.Greene and go sit down Daniel. Now" she said.
He let out a sigh but made his way to a seat behind mine, "Hey babe" he said winking. I rolled my eyes because i knew what was coming next. "Greene, so help me, if you call my sister babe again" Miles said not even looking up from his textbook. I heard Danny let out a slight laugh. Mrs. Greene got on with a lesson about, gee i don't even know. As she was writing something on the board i got a note from Danny reading, 'Sorry, turns out Cassie needs a ride home and she asked me so i agreed' As i read it i got madder and madder. I felt a hot tear slide down my cheek and than another and another. I looked right at Mrs. Greene, she nodded and i grabbed my things and silently left hiding my face so no one could see the tear streaks on my face.
I ran out into the hallway to my locker.. When i get there i slide down it ever so slowly and just cry and cry. "Hey, whats wrong baby girl?" I heard Miles say as he sat down beside me. I dont say a word i just cry into his shoulder while he sings to me, Ive always loved his voice so thats what he does when im upset. The bell finally rang and i got up and dried my eyes, "You okay?" Miles asked as he too stood up. I nodded my head and started getting into my locker. "I love you Ash and dont ever forget it" Miles says as he kisses my forehead and heads off to class.
I grab my books and head to the library for study hall, one of the classes that Danny isnt in, thank goodness. I walk in and see Ryan arguing with the teacher about some stupid pencial on her desk. "But im telling you! That penical is needed for my homework tonight!" He said throwing his hands up in the air. I walked over to Mrs. Willams desk, "Hello Mrs. Willams" I said smiling at her. "Hello Asher" She said. I looked over at Ryan, "Ash will you please tell Mrs.Williams that, that pencial is the pencial i use everyday for work" He said pointing to the pencial on her desk. I looked at him and laughed.
"Ry. You have your penical in your hand" I said pointing to the same exact same pencial in his hand. He looked from me to is hand that the pencial is in. "Psh. I knew that" he said as we walked to a table in the back. "Sure you did" I slightly laugh. We sit and start studying for our math after this. "The blank formul used..." I started but he stopped me, "Ash, youve been crying. Why?" He asked putting a hand on my wrist. "No reason" I say pulling my wrist away from him. Yes, ill admit i have walls. Very high walls that i have a little bit of trouble keeping them up and built but i try and sometimes suceed. Other times, not so much. "Oh no you dont. You will not put up those walls, no not with me" He says. Hes the one who rips my walls down without trying. Why do i have walls? Danny, thats why. Hes caused me so much anger, and saddness that the only real emotion i let people see is happiness. "Fine, its Danny. He told me yet another lie today and i just lost it" I say looking at the floor. I didnt even have to tell him that Cassie was the cuase of the lie because he already knew. "When are you finally going to let me sock the kid?" Ryan asks balling up his fists. "Never" I say.
