"Brai-braixen!" Braixen said reassuringly as I sat in the waiting room. It turns out I hadn't forgotten my performance dress, I'd just left the bag it was in in the previous Pokemon Centre and automatically assumed the worst. I mean I got some cute dresses out of it though, that's always a good thing. I wasn't wearing it though - no, I wanted to kick start my Contest career with something different and just to prepare for it, besides I had even learned a new move.

Me and Dawn had spent the majority of the time we weren't rehearsing that last week looking for cheap TM shops and had only found one 2 days before the contest. Dawn had taught her Buneary shadow ball as it 'works well with ice beam'.

"Serena, please come with me," the lady in charge stated from the doorway. I gulped and tightly held onto Braixen's hand as we followed the lady to the backstage area.

It was quite similar to the ones in Kalos, just smaller.

Soon it was my turn, I gulped. I returned Braixen

I stepped out onto the stage, pokeball in hand and...

"PLEASE WELCOME CO-ORDINATOR SERENA!"

"Braixen out you come! Use psychic!" the pokemon emerged and moved the stars emitting from the capsule to form a circle. She then made them form a star before blasting it with fire blast. There was an explosion of red and gold as me and Braixen emerged from the smoke with a circle of fire around them. "Hidden power!" I cried, Braixen created the move and threw it at the fire around us, the blue smoke cleared to reveal us bowing.

"WHAT A SPECTACULAR PERFORMANCE! I BELIEVE WE'VE FOUND OURSELVES A STRONG COMPETITOR!!"

I blushed at the last part and left the stage.

I 'calmly' walked away from the stage, before sprinting to the end of the corridor and started squealing. Dawn emerged from the door next to me and gave me a tight hug.

"SERENA! Oh my god, that was amazing! You did so well! I gotta go know, I'm up after this girl!"

"Bye, Dawn, thank you!" I waved as she turned around, smiled and dashed back into the room.

I let out a slow heavy sigh, I actually did it! And it went well! I returned to the performer's area and watched Dawn's performance on the screen.

Authors Note: I know this is short but it's my first chapter in forever! Don't judge me. I can't write performances, I know. Please like and show support,
