"Why do you even bother talking to me? I'm a nobody, I don't have any friends." I said shutting my locker.
"There's just something about you." Carter said.
"I don't need your sympathy. Just leave me alone." I said slinging my bag over my shoulder and walking away.
"Oh, come on, Sadie. Don't be like that." He said.
"Like what, Carter? I don't need you to step into my life and make everything worse. It's bad enough my mom's a drunk and my dad's a gang leader." I said as he walked closer.
"Gang leader?" He asked shocked.
"Yes, a gang leader. I don't want you getting hurt, so from now on don't talk to me." I said walking away.
He sighed. I felt a hand grab mine and I was spun around so that I was standing chest to chest with Carter. He looked down at me and smiled. He brushed his fingers across my face and he cupped my face in his hands.
"I don't care about who your family is. I care about who you are. I'd do anything just to get you to finally say yes." He said.
"Yes to what?" I asked.
"Will you be my girlfriend?" He asked.
I really did like this kid but it wasn't safe for us. I wanted to be with him but I've seen the things my father has done to his enemies. I shook my head and he groaned.
"Why do you have to be so difficult?" He whispered.
"Carter, I've seen the things that my father has done to his clients, other gang leaders, and his enemies. I'm just looking out for yo-" I said before he pressed his lips to mine.
He pulled away and smiled down at me. I was speechless, his kisses were so much better than my ex-boyfriend's. Carter's kisses only made me want more. He tucked a strand of hair behind my ear.
"So, what do you say?" He asked.
"Yes." I said.

6 Years Later.
I looked down at the pink plus sign on the stick. I couldn't believe it, I was pregnant with our second child. How would Carter react? He was pretty nervous when I told him the first time. He thought he was going to be a terrible father. But, little did he know, my little brother Garrett loved him.
"Babe!" I heard a voice shout from down the stairs.
I rinsed off the stick and shoved it in my back pocket. I ran down the stairs and jumped into his arms. He chuckled and lifted me off of the ground. He kissed the top of my head before setting me back down. He pecked my lips and smiled down at me.
"Where's Garrett and Chris?" He asked.
"Sleeping." I said.
Carter gave me a mischievous look and trailed kisses up and down my neck. He pulled me closer to him and kissed me. I immediately kissed back and he wrapped my legs around his waist.
"Carter, no. The boys are sleeping." I said.
"That hasn't stopped us before." He said pressing his lips back to my neck.
"Carter, stop." I said and he groaned.
"Sadie, we haven't had sex in a month. We both know we can't go that long. We could hardly go that long when you were pregnant with Chris." He said setting me down.
The test fell out of my pocket and before I had the chance to grab it, Carter already had it in his hands. He looked at the test, then looked at me, then back at the test.
"When were you going to tell me?" He asked.
"I just found out before you came home." I said.
He picked me up and spun me around. I laughed and pecked his lips when he set me back on the ground. He had the biggest smile on his face as he wrapped his arms around me.
"I love you so much." He said.
"I love you too, Carter." I said.
