Chapter Seven: Finders Keepers

Haley’s POV

            Nik takes my hand and leads me up the stairs to his room. Once inside, we both get ready and climb into bed. Not turning off the light, Nik looks at me and runs his fingers through my hair. He cups my face in his hands, “I love you” He says. I smile and put my hand over his,

“I love you too” I reassure him.

“I’m so lucky to have you. If anyone, ANYONE, ever tries to hurt you, I will kick their ass. Cause I’m buff and strong and no one can stand me! Because I’m boss!”

I laugh at his comments; “Of course Hun” I run my fingers through his blond hair and kiss his lips. “We should go to bed now.”

“Goodnight beautiful” he whispers to me after I shut the light off.

“Goodnight handsome” I whisper back. He lies on his back and I rest my head on his chest. Slowly falling asleep with the man I love.

Ally’s POV

            I awake wrapped in Patrick’s arms. I notice he’s still sleeping so I stay in that position, watching as his chest slowly rises and falls again with each breath. I remember the first time I saw him sleep. He, Nik, and Haley were staying the night at my house. It was the first time we've all stayed the night with eachother. I remember not being able to sleep. I was constantly tossing and turning and found myself just watching him sleep. It may sound creepy, but it's pure relaxation. After a few minutes, I finally fell asleep with him on my mind.

I smile at the memory. Knowing that was just over a year ago and now we're here together, in the same bed. My happiness starts to get clouded with a tickling sensation itching up my nose. I accidentally let out a horrifying sneeze, causing him to a startled awakening.

“What the hell.” He says shakingly.

I laugh to myself. “Sorry.”

“Was that a sneeze?!” He laughs at me.

“Well I don’t know what else it would be.”

Now that he was awake, on my behalf, we both get out of bed and head upstairs to see if the other two are up. While walking up the stairs, I hear how quiet it is. There's no footsteps, running water, slamming cabinets, nothing. The silence is a good sign that they’re both still sleeping as it wouldn’t be this quiet with Nik awake.

Reaching the kitchen, I go to the fridge and take out some milk and choose a cereal. Classic morning. Eating my cereal, Patrick and I talk about what happened last night.

“I can’t look at her the same now, knowing she isn’t a virgin anymore” I tease.

“You’ll get over that. Especially when you lose your virginity”

I pause from eating, “You’re assuming I’m still a virgin”

“Sorry, I guess yeah I just assumed. I don’t know, for some reason I thought you’d tell me if you did or not” He shakes his head, a bit embarrassed. “I don’t know why.”

“Well, your assumption is right. I am a virgin. Are you?” I ask.

He nods yes. “We just might have to change that.” He winks.

I laugh, “Maybe. You weirdo."

            Soon, both Haley and Nik come down the stairs and join us at the table. Nik, looking groggy as ever, stands up to grab a glass of water starts gargling it before swallowing. I look back and forth between Nik and Haley and look at Haley with the face of ‘seriously? Him?'

“What do we have planned for today?” Patrick asks Nik, trying to avoid the sounds coming from Nik's throat which you could hear all the way across the kitchen.

“Nothing is really planned. We can do whatever. Maybe we should go hiking, or swimming again.”

“We can go bike riding!” Patrick perks up. We all look at him confused.

“You brought your bike?” I ask him. He looks at me, and then everyone else’s confused looks.

He shrugs, “Everyone does!”

“NO. NO SHRUGGING!” I stand to yell at him. I slowly sit back down, a little embarresed, but they all dismiss my comment. It's just weird I can't handle shruging anymore. It grosses me out now.

“No… No one does” Haley says while shaking her head.

“Yeah, no one else brought their bike dude, only you” Nik says while putting the milk that I accidentally left out back in the fridge.

Moments later, we all decide to go on a hike. Grabbing appropriate shoes, we head out the door to the woods. Something about the woods out here seem scary, we’re the only ones up here, which adds onto the fear. I’m lost in thought as I look at the surroundings when all of a sudden I feel someone poke my sides. Causing me to scream.

“AH!” I turn and face who it was… Haley. “Haley!!” She giggles as usual. “I’ll get you back!”

She sticks her tongue out at me, “Uh-huh, sure!”

        We continue to walk through the woods when we come across a fallen tree truck. Nik wants to go and climb on it so we walk over to the tree. One step at a time, we all join Nik on the tree. Haley and I sit down as the guys continue to climb further up through the dead branches and leaves.

“Well this all turned out perfect!” Haley says to me.

I look at her confused, “What do you mean?”

“We’re all together now. Like, as couples!” She grabs my shoulders and shakes me “WE COULD GO ON DOUBLE DATES!!” I release myself and laugh at her.

“You’ve got this all planned out don’t you?”

“Well of course! It’ll be so much fun!”

“Uh-girls, you might want to come check this out” Nik says from further up the tree with concern and confusion echoeing through his voice. 

This can't be good.
