Chains of Insanity

Chapter 12

Sirens blared and red lights flashed on and off. A voice came on the inner com.

"WARNING, "PRISONER" NUMBER 666 ;} IZUKU MIDORIYA HAS ESCAPED!"

Aizawa swore under his breath and rushed through the halls.

Izuku limped down the halls. A trail of blood was left dripping out of his mouth and onto the floor. He leaned on the walls as he dragged himself toward the school entrance. All Might feebly came in front of him.

"Young Midoriya." All Might stammered. His skinny chest heaved as he struggled for breath. "You can't go. Please, stay. You can become a hero. Stay with us and you can take a new path. Become my successor again."

Midoriya looked at the ground. His hair obstructed his expression. He looked up through the gaps of his hair and glared at All Might. It sent shivers down his spine.

"Fuck you."

Midoriya's eyes widened when he saw heads peak their way into vision behind All Might. His classmates looked at him with determination on their faces.

"Please come back," Uraraka said. Tears filled her eyes.

"DEKU YOU LITTLE SHIT! What type of idiot do you think you are?! You'd rather fucking DIE than stop your fucking idiotic revenge?!" Bakugou pointed a finger at him accusatively.

"What do you know?!" Midoriya yelled.

"We know that you will die if you keep going like this." Kirishima frowned. Midoriya froze.

Ilda readjusted his glasses. "You strayed me from the path of revenge, I can't let you continue on the same path." Midoriya snapped his head in his direction.

"I think you should mind your own fucking buis-"

Aizawa came in behind him. Midoriya glanced back.

"You will die if you go. Your revenge will come to an end if you continue. It will die along with you and neither your Mother nor Sister will be avenged."

Silence followed. They heard the wind blow outside the school as clocks ticked.

Midoriya chuckled in a low voice. His giggling rose into laughter. He placed a shaking hand over his mouth but his laughter burst louder and it filled the halls. He covered his eyes as he tilted his head to the ceiling. His laughter continued.

As he laughed blood spewed out of his mouth. He continued laughing. His grin stretched all the way to the ends of his face and he looked at the people watching in horror.

"WHY DON'T YOU KILL ME RIGHT NOW THEN?! IM GOING TO DIE EVENTUALLY! WHY DON'T YOU FINISH THE JOB!" His horrid voice screamed. "COME ON DO IT! YOU COWARDS! JUST GET IT OVER WI-" A fist shot at his head. His head shot back at the full brunt of it. His head remained back as his neck cranked backward. Bakugou grabbed onto his collar.

"Please continue, Katsuki. Please? It will be like old times." He looked down at Bakugou. For the first time in a while, his face showed an expression different than insanity, or emptiness, or anger. It's was replaced with... sadness. Sadness and tears. His eyes were dull and begging for help.

Bakugou clenched his teeth. "You idiot. I- I can't..." He let go of Izuku's collar and shifted his arms around the boy. He brought Izuku to his chest and Izuku sobbed in his arms. Bakugou began to cry. He grabbed the back of his head and smushed it against his chest. Izuku's crying stopped.

"I'm sorry, Kachan."

Bakugou covered his mouth. "Don't apologize, you didn't deserve to go through all of this."

They embraced for minutes until a sharp pain hit in his stomach.

Bakugou coughed up blood onto Izuku's face.

"No. I'm sorry, but I have to keep my promise from before. In order to do that I can't keep you alive."

His own sword had stabbed a hole through his stomach and into Bakugou's. Bakugou went limp and leaned on top of Midoriya. He glared down at Bakugou's body. The sword disappeared in his body and he laid Bakugou on the ground.

He clutched his stomach and limped toward his classmates. Their eyes trained on Bakugou's body. Unnoticed, Midoriya walked past his classmates and out the doors.

He awoke to a familiar room. He stared at the white ceiling. He looked at the sides of him where medical beds were lined along the walls. Recovery Girl sat on one of them.

Bakugou attempted to get out of bed but his stomach screamed in pain and his head shot back onto his pillow.

"Not this again." He coughed. His voice was shrill and unused. "How long have I been out for this time?"

"Not long. About a day or two." Recovery Girl smiled. Bakugou groaned. "I'm not sure if Izuku knows your still alive."

"You know what? I gave him everything I had! I gave him everything I hoped would have turned him back to our side! I swore to him that I would bring him home but I just ended up getting hurt and now he's..." His voice faded. "He's gone again. I'm a failure, why couldn't Deku have killed me for real." Bakugou clenched the bedsheets in his closed fists. Recovery girl watched him closely.

Tears rolled down his cheeks and onto his hands. Recovery girl placed a hand on his shoulder. All Might's small form slowly opened the door. He slowly sat at the foot of the bed. He turned to look at Bakugou.

"It's okay, Young Bakugou. Let it out. And I promise. Everything will go back to normal and Izuku will be okay. We will stop him from using his quirk,You are not a failure. and no matter what happens, we will get Izuku back."

Bakugou nodded.

Bakugou slowly closed his eyes as visions of him and Izuku flashed before his eyes. A chubby, infantile hand outstretched, in front of his face. He looked up to see Izuku's bright smile. Blinding him with its joy and acceptance. He glanced back down at Izuku's hand.

And firmly...

He took it.

Hello... I am so so so so so freaking sorry for not updating in MONTHS. I personally do not enjoy waiting for a chapter of something to come out, so I can really understand what some of you might be feeling. Honestly, I'm kind of getting stuck. I have major events planned out but I'm not quite sure how to get to them. I'm sorry if some of you may be frustrated or disappointed in that or the quality of my writing. Again, comments, ideas, and criticism are welcomed... DEAPLY. Thank you!
