Summer's POV
This is totatlly shady. Catalaya is such a fool. She can't possibly think this guy is telling the truth. But he is our way out so the best thing I can do is shut up and listen. For Rose and James sake at least.
'Okay. If we can just get out of these ropes then I will let you know how we can get out here." Josh says.
"And how do you suppose we do that?" I retort. "Well, If you havent noticed I always keep a pocket knife in my back pocket and I'm working on that now." He snaps. Well, damn. My bad. But I don't admit that. As soon as he says that he breaks free from his ropes and works on getting Rose and James free.
When he gets to Catalaya he leanss down to break her ropes and gets a little to close for comfort if you ask me. He finally makes his way over to me and as soon as I'm free I go over to check on Rose and James. "What? No Thanks?"
"Summer at least give him a Thanks." Catalaya says while giving him a dreamy look. Can you say whipped? I just decide to ignore that comment and ask what everyoneis thinking. "So, How do we get out of here."
"Well, the best way is the air vent. It leads to the roof and up there is a ladder.And who ever is quick and agile will be able to get it. It's a short climb but it takes a small one.
"I'll do it." I whip my head around faster than you can Dummy say what!?! "What? You want to climb up an air vent James? Do you know how dangerous that is. You could get seriously hurt. No way!"
Why would he want to do that. He's so young. "Oh, just let him do it. For Pete's sake Summer. You act like your our goddamned mother." Oh this is not the time to be talking about this. "Well at least I care about our safety and not about some random boy we just met." Man if looks could kill.
"Okay ladies lets not fight. James come over here and I'll give you a boost up" Josh says.
"Whatever."
James POV
I can't say I trust this Josh fellow but he is our way out and I want my sisters and I to be safe. As Josh lifts me into the vent I assess which way I should go. I have a knack for climbing things so I put my feet on either sides and start wiggling my way up.
"Okay. Now when you get to the fan turn left and then keep going up." I hear Josh's voice yell-whisper up. It startles me and I start to slip but I soon regain my footing. I hear Sunner's sigh of relief and I know she is watching me. I turn left like he says and I find a hatch. I go out and Sunshine hits my face. It's mid-day and I step out on the roof and stretch with alot of my bones popping. Being tied up all day and night will do that to ya.
I look around the roof until I find the ladder Josh was talking about. I grab it and go back through the roof until I am over the opening I cam through. "The rope is coming down." I yell.
A collection of okay's are my reply and I throw down the rope. Rose starts shimmying up and I help her and direct her where to go. Then Summer and Catalaya and Josh soon follow. When Josh comes up he closes the vent behind him and pulls out the ladder.
We all make it to the roof and Summer, like always asked what we were all thinking. "So buster, how do we get off of the roof?" Josh looks thoughtful for a second.and then seems to have figured it out.
"We jump."
