As an author of this book, I would like you all to take some time to read the story about a Vanguard and the Idol. How they keep their friendships throughout every hardships and difficult times.

Aichi Sendou; a young boy, champion of the Cardfight!! Vanguard tournament.

Kourin Tatsunagi; a young lady, popular idol of the country.

These two did cross paths in each other, and it's all because of a game.

They got close, and became friends with close connection. Him caring for her and vice versa; it was the perfect friendship that you could ever have.

Ah, but then the idol is in love with the vanguard! She didn't know what to do, and all she can do is to keep a steady face and act like she isn't falling for him.

Yet some of her actions can be too obvious, everyone knows except for... Of course the dense boy.

Kourin did become closer to Aichi, giving them more chance to be friendlier to each other. Kourin fell even more in love to him, and Aichi still didn't notice her feelings.

Aichi is just too dense!

Kourin sighed in hopelessness; oh how lonely and needing her heart has become!

She looked at the blunette fighting against Naoki, and she could only sigh.

"Are you okay?" Misaki asked, Kourin nodded while looking down at the table.

"Yeah, I'm just tired." Kourin replied. She couldn't help but to think of how painful it is to fall in love with a man that will never love you back.

This is because she knows that this is not a fairytale. Aichi Sendou might be the knight in shining armor, but is Kourin even the princess that he will protect and love romantically?

No! That's not going to be her of course! Her heart and mind screamed to her, telling her the same words over and over again.

Misaki was deeply, entirely concerned about the idol's well-being and emotions. She didn't know what to do with Kourin, and as far as she can be there with her, all she could do to is to become a shoulder she could lean on.

And Kourin was fine with that, Misaki's her best friend after all.

-

"I love him." Kourin said, the two girls were alone in the club room and the boys were out to buy some foods in the canteen.

"Aichi?" Misaki wondered, and she was met with a nod from Kourin. And Misaki was right about her assumptions, she gave a smile.

"I'm pretty sure he will understand, just tell him what you feel and everything will be fine." The lilac haired girl said.

"I know, Misaki... I know..." Kourin crossed her arms on the table and rested her head on her arms. "But I'm nervous, and this is the first time that I ever became nervous for this. I know I'll be turned down, I'm ready for it. But still..."

"I understand, Kourin. It's just too hard to do." Misaki replied as she pats her back.

"Misaki..." Kourin spoke.

"Yes?" The lilac haired girl turned to her direction.

"I think I'll move on from him..."

This statement made the Boss Lady surprised, her eyes widened and gasped slightly.

"Why? Don't you love him?"

Kourin nodded, "I do but... it's best not to hope for nothing."

"I see..." Misaki couldn't help but to just accept what Kourin's decisions are. She could see how hurt the blonde idol is.

The two smiled at each other and Kourin tears up, crying. Misaki embraced her for comfort.

-

Just as they thought no one could hear it, what they didn't know is that Aichi was behind closed doors. He heard the whole conversation, and he felt his heart sank. His eyes teared up and touched his chest, feeling the pain in his heart. It felt like thousand needles had pricked him to the point of internally bleeding- as metaphor of course.

Had it not been for my nervousness and doubt, I would have told her what I feel.

His thoughts told him, and he sighed in sadness. Everything is too late for him now.

-

The next few days felt a bit off for the fellow club members, seeing as Kourin and Aichi were both ignoring each other. No one knew why except for Misaki who knew everything that happened except for Aichi's part, which confused her a lot.

"So Kourin, I'm pretty sure that since you have fans, are you alright with having a relationship?" Naoki asked, causing Kourin to be surprised.

"What are you talking about?!" Kourin spoke as she blushed a little.

"Oh, so you have a boyfriend?" Naoki grinned teasingly, Kourin frowned at this.

"No." It was her stern reply.

"But I know you have someone you like, Kourin." Naoki teased once again.

"I don't have one," Kourin told him, causing the redhead to pout.

"What a killjoy." Naoki remarked. "I was hopin' for some steamy actions and snoopy articles about you."

Misaki then slapped the back of Naoki's head, Naoki winced. "Ouch!"

Misaki gave a glare, "Can't you just respect her privacy?!"

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" Naoki apologized and knelt down.

"It's alright." Kourin replied and sighed.

Shingo was fixing his glasses and cleared his throat as he looked at Naoki. "Geez, porcupine head. If Miss Idol wouldn't tell anyone what she feels, then let her be. Some life stories need to be private."

They all nodded and agreed to what the glasses boy said.

Kourin then took a breath and just sighed, for some reason, moving on from the blunette was a good thing and made her feel at ease.

And yet...

Aichi was not feeling the same as Kourin does.
