Elena's PoV-

My brother, Tony, was reading his comic book aloud to me, our father, and our mother. But, it was mainly to me, because I seemed to be the only one who didn't mind it when he spoke about the supernatural beings he adores. I smiled gently at the different voices he made. As I leaned my head against the cold car window, I let my eyes drift shut, slowly falling asleep to the sound of my brother's voice.

I opened my eyes to see myself in some sort of crypt or catacomb. There were dozens of people-- no creatures-- flying around in the crypt. They all seemed to be gathering in the center of the room, like it was some sort of party. I glanced up when I heard a soft scuffling above me. It was a boy, who looked to be my age, but he was like one of the creatures that surrounded me. It didn't seem like they could see me.

The boy had pale, blue-ish skin, and bright red eyes. His black hair was spiked up, and as he grinned down at the group below, I could see a pair of glistening, white fangs. I gasped, covering my mouth with my hand. "Vampires." I whispered to myself, unbelieving where I was. This dream felt all too real. The boy froze in his steps, his red gaze snapping towards me. I stiffened, my eyes wide. "Can he see me..?" I wondered aloud, gulping slightly. His red eyes narrowed and in the blink of an eye, he was in my face.

"How did you get here?!" He hissed out, his red eyes glowing brightly. I gasped, taking a step back. "I-I-" I stuttered out, holding my clasped hands up to my chest. "Well?! Answer me, mortal!" He shouted out in a slight whisper, as if trying not to alert the rest of the group in the main part of the catacomb to the conversation. I felt my eyes narrow in anger before I growled out at him, flashing him my own teeth. He took a step back, shocked. The shock went away as quickly as it had come, and he was right back up in my face. I felt his cold hands on my cheeks as he forced open my mouth to get a better look at my teeth. "Wait....how can you have-" I cut him off when I shoved him away from me. "Get off! Ever heard of personal space?!" I shouted at him. He looked down to the ground, sheepishly rubbing the back of his neck. "Sorry, but how did you get here? Did mother invite you?" He asked looking down at me, seeing as he stood a few inches taller than me. I looked at him in confusion. "I-I'm not too sure. One minute, I was asleep, the next I know, I woke up here." I bit my lip lightly, looking down at the ground in worry.

My head shot up when I heard someone stumble down a set of stairs behind us. I gasped when my eyes caught sight of a severely burnt, older vampire. "Gregory!" The vampire beside me yelled, running up to the older one.

I watched on as a woman, man, and younger girl all gathered around the other two vampires. "My son! Was it Rookery?" The man asked, looking down at the boy in worry. "Who could've done such a horrible thing." I whimpered aloud, taking a step back from the family of vampires. The boy who had seen me before glanced up at me, before he looked back down at his older brother.

I gasped in slight pain, falling down to my knees. I felt like I was flickering out of existence. I felt a gaze on me, and saw the boy looking at me in slight worry. My head was absolutely killing me right now, and my vision became blurry.

I blacked out, but I don't know for how long. When I came to, I saw the vampires flying towards the exit in a panic. "Come on!" I felt a tug at my wrist. Looking up, I made eye contact with the same vampire boy from before. "We're going to get sealed in! We have to go!" He cried out, pulling me along with him. "What's happening?" I asked, my voice almost drowned out by the screams of panic from the vampires around us.

The vampire pulled me towards the exit, and we just barely managed to slip through a small hole in a steel net that covered the wide entrance into the tomb. I let out a gasp as he pulled me into the air, and we sped off towards a group of floating figures in the distance.
