Y/N's POV
Eating breakfast slowly, my father examined my every move. He was seated opposite to me whilst chewing his Goop (breakfast edition). It was uncomfortable - I wanted him to stop.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" I finally spoke up, bits of breadcrumb fell out of my mouth.
"Your mother has told me what happened." He announced, almost finishing his plate, "Your mother is right. Don't hang out with him or any of the Parks. You were too young to know what happened between us."
With that, he briskly stood up and left his empty dish on the sink. Next, he departed the kitchen without looking at me.
What the- that was strange. Pff, Dad was wrong; I knew everything since I was 2. Blanking out, I remembered my toddler self waddling in our old house's garden. Everything was lush: the grass, the apple tree, the morning sky and our neatly-painted shed. There, near the shed, I recounted my brother play-fighting with this random boy. I presumed it was his childhood friend but I didn't know who he was, even to this day.
"Y/N! Hurry up." I looked up seeing my mother frowning, "Your Dad and I expect your score to increase by 2 points today."
"Why not tell your other child about that?" I smirked mischievously, "His score is lower than mine!"
"For him, it's too late." Her eyes suddenly turned hopeless; I felt pity for her, "It's certain he's going to end up in Life Isolation soon..."
"Yes, yes, yes. You've been saying that for the 1000th time now..." Rolling my eyes, I stationed my bowl on the sink before I hastily exited the room.
When I entered my bedroom to get dressed, I noticed that I received two notifications from Jimin:
"Good morning :)"
"Had a good sleep?"
Swiftly, I replied to him with a simple "yes". I must admit that Jimin was less arrogant than I thought; his warm texts even made me smile lightly. And trust me, I never usually do that - especially with my low depressing score.
Right after organizing my schoolbag, I evacuated myself from the grim place. Yes yes, I said I was determined to help my family but...the pressure was all too much, that I left hurriedly. I loved them, however, their passionate talks about the point system infuriated me. Couldn't they focus on something else other than my score? I just hoped this order would be abolished soon... I didn't want anyone else to be in my situation.
As I entered the college gates, I immediately saw Riana rushing towards me with a toddling Jungkook behind her. She was wearing a classy outfit, which could only be afforded by over 7s. How?
"Y/N!" She cried excitedly, "I'm a 7.2 now! Thanks to my friend, Jungkook."
"Um...oh okay?" I stuttered whilst looking at the fretful Jungkook who was in her firm embrace.
"Riana, stop." Jungkook pulled away before he started whispering, "Riana, she's a 3.4, let's go..."
"But she's my friend-"
"Bye then." He chuckled, scurrying away as Riana followed him defeatedly.
Well, I had a feeling that she wouldn't be my 'friend' for long. She would be hanging out with Jungkook instead...pff.
Opening the colossal wooden doors to the lecture room, I recognized Jimin was already prepared to start the class, since he was at the front standing upright. While going down the stairs carefully, I received a small endearing wave from him as he beamed at me sweetly. Placing my notebook on the desk and my bag under, I sneakily went down the stairs to chat with him for a few moments. Everyone would see but honestly, I didn't care. The heinous sneers and mocks already erupted anyway.
