"Why did you let them get away?" Bonnie's scolding tone comes through the speaker-phone.

Damon rolls his eyes. "I didn't let them get away," he corrects her, sardonically, earning himself a somewhat disapproving side-glance from Stefan, who's sitting next to him on the couch of the Boarding House's spacious living room.

"I followed them back to the anonymous condo where Elijah has momentarily settled Katherine, waited for a while, and then left. They seemed to be getting quite comfortable, if you know what I mean," he grimaces at the memory. "Excuse me for not wanting to listen to that."

"Damon–" Stefan warns him just as Bonnie sighs on the other line.

"What?" he widens his eyes, turning to face his brother. "It's true. And anyway, all that matters is that now we know where the bitch is staying. We just need to find the right moment to surprise her when her bodyguard is not around."

Bonnie hums in agreement through the speaker-phone.

"It's going to be more difficult now, though. If Elijah is keeping in contact with her so often, he will get suspicious if she disappears."

"Well, what do you suggest, then? If we wait too long, he might turn her back into a vampire, like you said."

"I know," she sighs. "Did you hear how he plans on doing that?"

Damon shakes his head, sharing a dejected look with Stefan.

"No. They were talking about it when I tuned into their conversation, but I couldn't understand much. All I know about it is that they're tight on time because apparently Mr. Evil himself is back in town as well. Elijah needs to turn Katherine again before Klaus learns of her newly human condition."

"Alright," Bonnie says after a small pause. "I'll try to look into it, see if understanding the procedure that they have in mind can buy us some time, maybe by stalling it or something."

"And what do you need us to do in the meantime?" Stefan asks.

"I'd say to just stick to our original plan, since at least now we know where Klaus and Elijah are."

"Sooo, that would be getting their blood, right?" Damon clarifies after a moment.

"Yes. We have Rebekah's now, but still two to go."

"And it probably won't be as easy to get theirs," Stefan points out.

Damon smirks, mirth playing around his eyes. "How did you ever get Barbie Klaus' anyway?"

"I used the sedative that Bonnie gave me," the younger Salvatore answers without missing a beat, although carefully avoiding his brother's gaze.

"Mmh-uhm," Damon hums, unconvinced, his smirk widening.

"Guys!" Bonnie regains their attention, annoyance clear in her slightly raised tone. "We don't have time for this, okay? Whatever Stefan did, it worked, and that's all that matters. However, I'm not sure how we can use the lotus on Klaus and Elijah."

With a roll of his eyes and a dramatic snort, Damon lets the topic drop.

"Yeah, it's gonna be tough to try and drug those two up."

"Just find a way," Bonnie orders. "Don't be obvious, but find a way."

"Hey," Damon scoffs. "We've been in the business for longer than you, Judgy. We know what we're doing," he reassures her cockily. "Do you know what you're doing?" he mocks after a moment.

Bonnie grumbles into her phone without giving him a real answer, hanging up on the Salvatores before sighing to herself.

"I really hope so."
