Our Her0 (Yes, He is still Our Hero! No, He did not defeat The Monster. Sometimes, just to survive The Monster is enough, to survive The Monster and to return to the family in any way possible.) was a Christmas morning Ebenezer. He hugged and rehugged his family.  He woke with a grateful heart for each day ahead.  Though tired at the end of each day Our Hero always  said a prayer of thanks and appreciation for each day's gifts.

Our Hero and Heroine continued to look upon their daughter with great care and affection.  Cable had a special way with that horse and could get Playa to prance and to turn while jumping. Our Hero thought of the horses in the sandy beach pasture in Cabo and of their contentment in watching the joyous colt.  Our Hero knew that someday that Cable would have to leave his watchful eye and face monsters of her own, but for today, today was good enough, today was now monster-free, today was worth celebrating, today was to be enjoyed.

A year and a day or so later, Our Hero ran into Wild Willie , who was simply Will now.  Will said he had also run into Daniel recently too and was not surprised to see Our Hero alive.  Yes, all had survived the ordeal individually and all thought themselves unworthy to continue their mercenary existence.  All eventually found a place and a home and found people to care for and people to care for them.  They All Became A Hero For Our Time.

As for The Monster.  Well, that's another story to be told another time.  Suffice it to say, Our Hero lost the habit of spitting PUMPKINSEED.
