This wasn't to supposed to happen. They should have been rescued days ago. Roy said the coast guard did a weekly sweep of the island, making sure no one was stranded on it. Dick was supposed to get help. Why didn't that happen?

Let's rewind.

The day had started out normal. Or, as normal as it can when you're stranded on an island. Except for the fact that Dick was puking. He felt like crap.

His hand had been infected for a few days. The disease, whatever he had, had taken full effect. He couldn't eat much without throwing up. He constantly had a headache, and sometimes his mind got foggy, leaving him wondering where he was. He found himself drifting off constantly.

Wally and Roy had no choice but watch their brother constantly turn worse. Each day they expected to see him dead or dying. Instead, they saw him suffering constantly. They often didn't know which was worse: seeing him in pain, or seeing him dead.

After a few hours had passed and Dick had fallen back asleep, a ship appeared on the horizon. Roy went to the shore to investigate, and Wally stayed with Dick. Tasha still had not left Dick's side, even to hunt. Roy often trapped small animals for the tiger to eat.

After a few minutes came the sound of running. Roy burst into the cave, breathing hard. He picked Dick up bridal style. "Not help. Enemies. Thieves. Not happy to see us here. Need to move." Wally got up, as did Tasha. Roy sent Wally ahead to scout, and Tasha stayed with him. He had the feeling it had to do with Dick.

Wally came back and led Roy to another cave, but this one had ivy at the entrance, hiding it. Once they got inside, Roy set Dick down, making sure to keep him sleeping. Wally demanded Roy tell him what happened.

"I went to the beach to investigate. After seeing the boat wasn't marked, I hid behind a rock. It was about five men, two lugging bags, three with guns. One of the men dropped his bag, and jewelry fell out. I'm talking necklaces, rings, bracelets, even had a few anklets. They picked it up, leaving a small ring behind. The boat sped off once they got back on. I walked to the ring and examined it. It was gold, like Dick's. That's the reason I was caught. One of the men looked back. I ran, with the ring. If you don't mind, I want to look at something."

Roy pulled out the ring. He held it next to Dick's, and said, "It matches. It looks older, like his." Wally looked for himself. It did look similar. That struck him as odd. "Any chance of hijacking the boat?"

Roy shook his head. "they had at least a dozen other guys. We don't have a chance, especially with Dick injured and sick. And we can't hide him, because they're looking for me. And if they find me, they're most likely to find you." Wally sighed. "Any chance they'll be gentle if we give up?" Another shake of the head for Roy. Wally really needed to start keeping count.

The boys froze when they heard footsteps. The ivy started to move. Then, it dropped. Roy and Wally looked at each other in confusion. Then, a small item was thrown into the cave. A hissing sound was heard as a gas escaped the room.

Wally ran out. He wanted to see if he could catch the guy who had thrown it. Instead, there were three guys, and he ran off. He knew he was abandoning Roy and Dick, but he knew if one man stayed free, there was a bigger chance he could rescue them.

After a few minutes, Wally stopped. The meager diet he had been on had limited his running time. He was already starting to hear his stomach. He went into the jungle, looking for food.

He came to the edge and saw the thieves. Roy had his hands bound, and two men keeping him in line. One man carried Dick bridal style, and Tasha was being carried in a net.

Wally cursed under his breath. Tasha and Roy were surrounded, and Dick was in no shape to move. He had little to no running time, and they were on a deserted island. Could things get worse?
