I walked out to Davis. He dropped the magazine he was reading and hugged me as if there were no tomorrow. "Baby, I am so glad you're alright. Look at your cheeks. I'll still love you even if they scar over. Like the self harm scars on your legs. Think of these ones like one big war you've fought. You won the war"
He said while kissing my head. I just nuzzled my husband for as long as possible. I don't care if people are staring, he could have lost me.
"Where are the kids?"
I asked.
"They're at home. Rebecca and Emma said that I could trust them" Davis replied. I just smiled and walked out of the police station.Davis walked behind me grabbing my waist playfully as we walked home.
"It's such a nice sunset isn't it honey?"
Davis asked me. I just smiled looking into the sunset.
"The sunset reminds me of our wedding." I said.
Davis smiled.
"When I think back to our wedding day, I can see you in the most beautiful wedding gown I have ever seen. You were the most important person that day. When you walked down that isle my heart was complete"
Amanda had tears in her eyes. Davis was a big softie. Ever since they became husband and wife, became parents, Davis had become a softie. Before marriage, before children, Davis was this big tough guy who would protect the ones who he loved.Amanda laughed
"come on, let's go home. I'm starving"
Davis rolled his eyes and laughed, "she's thinking about food. Even after a near death experience she thinks about food"
