Kayla was preparing some lemonade. It was a hot, sunny day. She wished she could dive into a pool. She squeezed the lemons and got the sugar and water ready. She was a teaspoon short of enough sugar but she made do. After making the lemonade she walked up to her room to get her favorite book. For some reason she couldn't find it. She looked everywhere. She called to her mom.

Mom!!

What?!

Where is my book?!

I am not sure, sorry honey!

Okay, thanks anyway!

She looked all around her bed thinking that it might've fallen under her bed somewhere. She pushed away dusty old boxes and old decorations she had used for Halloween. "I really need to clean out this place." Finally she found it. "The lemonade is probably warm now." She hadn't read this book for a while she thought she should finish it. Her grandma gave it to her on her eighth birthday. Her grandma passed away when she turned 12. She is 14 now. Her grandma died of a heart attack. She was in chapter 11. It was somewhat interesting but fantasy wasn't really her thing. She liked medieval. But she felt bad. She didn't want to disappoint her grandma because her grandma seemed really excited and nervous to give it to her. Kayla ran downstairs and grabbed her lemonade. She was surprised the lemonade was still cold because she forgot to put ice in it. She put some ice in her lemonade and sat out on her porch. She opened her book to chapter 11. Kayla sat on her porch for a long time reading it. She read to chapter 13. She was about to close her book and head upstairs but she heard something. It sounded like an orchestra. Then she started to see sparkles coming out of the book. The sparkles were so bright it hurt her eyes. She felt like the whole world was turning. She felt like she was falling off the earth. All of a sudden she landed with a thud. She was knocked out. Kayla woke up with a groan. Her head was spinning. She felt really dizzy like she was about to barf. She felt grass between her feet and heard birds and......... the orchestra music again!! She got up in a flash. She couldn't believe her eyes. She definitely wasn't home anymore.
