"What are you doing?"

I looked up to be greeted by my raven haired friend Rose.

"Just writing."

She rolled her eyes and sat down on the marble steps next to me.

"What about?"

I tapped the pen to my lips, cringing at the feeling of the cool plastic.

"About everything that happened to me. You know, just in case something bad happens again, and I don't get so lucky. People will know the real story."

"Ooo let me see!" my other friend Serene came out of nowhere and snatched my book.

A few seconds later her eyes drooped and she was fake snoring. I snatched my book back out of her dainty hands sending her scowl.

"You should definitely write about me instead Cali," she nudged. "You know, because I have the best story out of the three of us."

"Please," Rose rolled her eyes. "Who'd want to read about a hyperactive fae who acts like she runs on ten pounds of sugar?"

"Everybody!" Her wings flapped. "That's why they threw me this party."

"They threw it for the three of us," Rose countered.

"Oh yeah," Serenity said. "No wonder they're so many weird paragons and seasceans here."

Rose laughed and shook her head at her silliness.

"You guys should seriously try writing out what happened in the past four years. It helps you process things. It'll also be helpful if something else were to happen and we'd die with everyone thinking everything we did was simply heroic," I suggested. "And believe me, something's going to happen sooner or later."

"Like what? People being raised from the dead?" Serene's eyes lit up. "On second thought, that actually sounds pretty fun."

"I'm being serious," I told.

"So am I," she told with a wicked grin.

"Look Cali, I think you worry too much," Rose put a hand on my shoulder. "We've all been through some really traumatizing stuff and I think the universe is giving us a break now."

"I know I'm just," I inhaled a sharp breath. "I'm scared. What if there's something else out there that I'm going to have to fight-"

"We will always have something else to fight, hopefully not as bad as before, but you get my point. Don't worry about it today, this is a celebration. Celebrating all our hard work we put into the last couple of years, keeping the world safe. And I'll be damned if any one of you are still sober by the end of the night."

"Alcohol's gross though," Serene cringed.

"I'll put extra sugar and maple syrup in yours," Rose told.

"Yay," she grinned.

"Now put the book down," Rose grabbed my hand and lifted me up to my feet. "Let loose and let's drink our PTSD away."

Can't argue with that logic. Maybe I should stop worrying. It's all over, it's all in the past now.

Or at least that's what I thought. A couple of hours later, our party was stormed and terrorized. A new evil had been unleashed and the world was in trouble again. And you know what, I'm surprised Serene had nothing to do with it. Rose, if you even get the chance to read this on the slim chance we all make it out alive, congratulations on winning the award for the most stupid decision ever made in the history of stupid decisions.
