"Corey. Our room." says Devyn, her teeth clenched and tight. She moves away from the counter and leaves the kitchen, walking towards the stairs. "NOW!"
Corey just gulps as he looks down at the marbled counter top of the island. A million thoughts swarmed his head, as he started to panic.
"Good luck, dude." says Elton, as he pats his roommate's shoulder. Where his hand was, it was right on a fresh bruise from that moring; and the pat, though not very strong, brings a shot of pain to Corey from the slightest touch. But Elton didn't notice the flinch from the young man; instead, he went to his room in the garage to edit some content he filmed a month prior.
Corey looked up as Elton left the kitchen. He followed his friend's retreating back before turning to his other two roommates; who had moved to the game room after Devyn went upstairs. They must have turned the TV'S volume to a '50' so it would drown out the fight that was most likely going to start once Corey finally goes upstairs. The music of the 'Fortnight' soundtrack played, loudly, as Corey finally moves to the stairs.

And now as he stands in front of his bedroom door, with his hand just hovering over the doorknob. Corey let's out a breath he hasn't noticed he was holding, out.
