Lee Joon was just a facsimile of Mr. Lee Joon, or maybe he was someone worse. He probably was just a character playing his scripted role. Whomever it was, it wasn't the same person from before.
This person had...emotions.
He had thoughts that no one could understand. Maybe he didn't even understand himself.
"You tell me something I've already acknowledged. I know who I am, and I do need help, but only from you two." Lee Joon explained as he squirmed around in his wheelchair.
"Why us? What happened to you has nothing to do with my boyfriend and I. You getting shot and paralyzed has nothing to do with us. Solve your own goddamn problems Lee Joon." Taehyung told the elder and turned his back before Jungkook caught him by the wrist.
"Wait," Jungkook commanded as he kissed Taehyung on his lips. It was bad timing, but he knew that Taehyung would've ignored him regardless. "Every bad person has a good side, right?"
Taehyung immediately shook his head no.
The younger tugged on his boyfriend's sleeve and dragged him into the corner of the living room. "Are you actually taking up for him right now? Do you not remember what he's done to us, or had he beaten you so many times that you can't remember."
Jungkook unmindfully pushed Taehyung away. "Stop that! Please don't say that again."
Taehyung felt guilty for bringing up one of Jungkook's worst memories. He had forgotten for a split second that Jungkook was once abused by Mr. Lee Joon.
"I'm sorry Kookie. I just don't know how to be a good boyfriend. I don't feel comfortable with...that person being here." Taehyung admitted which made the younger groan.
"Is that going to be your excuse for everything? You're not a good boyfriend phrase is getting boring. I'm starting to think it's your catchphrase." Jungkook told then continued, "What do you want to do with him?"
Taehyung didn't immediately answer Jungkook's question. He wanted him to leave and never talk to them again, but there was a reason Lee Joon came back to them. He didn't want their sympathy.
He needed help.
"Well didn't you say you knew someone who could help him?" Taehyung asked and Jungkook nodded his head yes. "Who's the person?"
"I forgot his name, but when Lee Joon and I were dating he told me about this guy he met in prison -" Jungkook was cut off.
"Prison?! Woah, why was he in there?" Taehyung questioned but his boyfriend covered his mouth as he continued to talk.
"I wouldn't be surprised if I never knew him, but the Lee Joon before prison isn't the same one now. He was way more humble and kindhearted." The younger confessed before turning his head to meet Lee Joon's. "Maybe we should talk about this later."
"No wait-" Taehyung immediately stopped himself from talking any further as he say Jungkook walk away.
"I thought you had a caregiver or something. At least that's what Jay told me." Jungkook stated as he felt a cool breeze his the back of his neck. "W-What-"
That's when he saw Taehyung behind him. "Why did you leave me? We were in the middle of a very important conversation." He said with a friend plastered on his face. Jungkook didn't let his words phase him much. He ignored him and turned his face back to Lee Joon.
"So back to what I was saying, you have someone babysitting you right? Or did they abandon you because you were a pain in the ass." Jungkook muttered out before Lee Joon let out a hard cough.
"I let her go home to her family for the week. I told her that I needed to be left alone for a few days until I got my head together. That's the reason why I'm here. I can't move on with my life until you two help me." Lee Joon said. He sounded a lot more sophisticated and confident. He was finally admitting that he needed help and that he needed Jungkook and Taehyung to help him.
Jungkook let out a wild snicker before squatting down to Lee Joon's level. "You're kidding right? You rolled all the way over here just to tell us this bull crap." Lee Joon didn't let the younger's words hurt him much. He just slightly grinned and continued.
"Do you remember that time you dropped your earring into the garbage disposal? God, you were throwing a fit because you were running late for your interview." Lee Joon said, but Jungkook didn't seem to hear. "So I unscrewed all of the pipes until I found it. You were so happy. I think I bought you those earrings, I didn't know they meant that much to you until I saw you cry when you thought you lost them."
"I was crying because I was going to be late. I couldn't care less about those earrings. I've already replaced them already." Jungkook proclaimed with a smile upon his face. His boyfriend glared at him from the corner of his eye, feeling pleased. Taehyung had bought him custom made earrings which was made by his mother herself.
Lee Joon stood—sat— in shock. He knew how much Jungkook cared about everything that he had given him. Maybe Jungkook really did hate him from what Lee Joon knows. He cleared his throat through the now awkward silence, "How can I prove to the two of you that I mean everything I've just said. I'm truly sorry."
"You're truly lying." Taehyung exclaimed as he walked an inch closer to Lee Joon. "I can't risk you lying to us and breaking our trust again. Please leave now."
The ambiance had changed. It was now filled with nothing but reject. Lee Joon hated the feeling of being rejected. Especially when he couldn't do anything about it.
For sure, Lee Joon wasn't the type to give up so easily. He wasn't going to give up at all.
"I can't leave, and I'm not leaving." Mr. Lee Joon said as he locked his wheels.
