As this is my sad duty to document this to you, I must say that this book ends better than the series, or the movie.
So where were we?
Oh Yes
After Violet and Klaus got tired of driving past fields, and fields, of farmland, both fell sound asleep against Sunny's little head. After about an hour or so, Mr. Poe pulled up In front of a fairly sized house. The children awoke as Mr. Poe sharply tapped on the window closest to Klaus.
" Here we are children, your new home. isn't it nice?!"
The children had to admit, that indeed, the house did look quit nice. It wasn't gloomy, or filthy like Count Olaf's. And it wasn't cold, or being held up by stilts, like Aunt. Josephine's. But one thing Violet and Klaus wondered, was if their new guardian would make them feel at home again. They weren't sure if their new guardian would be a loving mother, or a loving father.
" Mr. Poe, do you know who our new guardian is?"
Violet curiously asked.
" Well Violet, I am not completely sure , but the last time I talked to her, she sounded like an intelligent and noble lady"
Well, there was one clue. Their new guardian would be ( hopefully), a loving mother. Violet and Klaus exchanged a look. Then suddenly, the door flew open, and a tall lady ran down the stairs with open arms, and embraced the Baudelaire children.
" Children! oh children! it's ever so lovely to see you again!"
The lady said, hugging the children closer.
" Violet! oh Violet! you look lovely! The last time I saw you, you were just an Infant!" She said, ruffling Violets hair.
" And Klaus! You've turned into a handsome young man! you were just a baby last time I saw you!" The women happily exclaimed.
" And Sunny! We've never met before! How lovely you are! You look so much like your mother!" The lady smiled excitedly, and took Sunny into her arms.
" I'm your Aunt. Coraline, and welcome to your new home!" Aunt. Coraline smiled and led the children up the stairs, and into her pretty house which was built with pale bricks and wooden windowsills painted a chestnut brown. Inside, the house seemed cosy, and warm. The living room had 3 sofas, and a fireplace which was unlit. You could see the kitchen from the room, and pots and pans were scattered in the sink.
" Oh, don't mind the mess, I was just making lunch for you three!" She said with a smile, with Sunny still in her arms. Aunt. Coraline took them around the house which contained a small library with books Klaus had never read before. Klaus was over joyed, because he hadn't remembered the last time he had read a book. In the backyard, was a wonderful garden and a small shed where Aunt. Coraline left to the children. Violet thought it perfect to test her inventions! Aunt. Coraline led them past a hall of rooms, each with different meanings. At the end of the hall, was a room with the door closed, although all the others were open.
" What's in that room at the end?". Klaus curiously asked, turning the door knob.
" No no no! That room is to be untouched. When the time comes.... you will know" Aunt. Coraline said with a small smile. Violet and Klaus exchanged a look.
" Why don't you three go upstairs to your room, and unpack?" Aunt. Coraline said and placed Sunny down, who ran to Klaus, who gladly picked her up, and the 3 made their way up the stairs to their room.
" Lunch will be served in a couple minutes!" She called as Violet closed the door behind them.
" Why is it that every house we go too, theirs one room that we're not allowed to be In?!" Klaus angrily asked, setting Sunny down on one of the 2 big beds on either side of their room.
" I know theirs something going on, and although Aunt. Josephine told us a bit about it, I'm going to find out the whole thing if it kills me!".
