My eyes can't leave him, because so many emotions come over me. Anger, sadness, fury, disappointment. His eyes scan us until they stop on me, a softness in them as he watches me.
"What the hell's going on here, exactly?" Dean demands, interrupting my thoughts.
"I'm happy to fill in the blanks, but maybe we should go somewhere where we can actually sit down." He suggests, to which Dean shakes his head, "We aren't going anywhere with you. Okay, how do we even know that you're really Chuck and not just some crazy spell or manifest-"
He snaps his fingers and we are suddenly surrounded by the familiar walls of the bunker. Dean finishes his sentence stunned as he takes in our new surrounding, "...ation."
A figure steps out from behind him and I freeze on the spot, my heart full of grief and love. Sam stills from beside me and I grab his hand as he whispers in disbelief, "Kevin?"
Images of Gadreel's palm laying on Kevin's head and smiting him comes to mind, reminding me of the pain I've never really let go of. I can't believe he is there in front of me, and with my father as well no less.
"Guys. You're looking stressed." Kevin states before he looks towards Dean, "Especially you."
He turns and faces Chuck, placing a hand on him, "It's cool. Trust Chuck. Whatever it is he needs you to do, he must think you can handle it."
He smiles at me and Dean before he looks past us towards Sam, a kind smile on his lips, "I always trusted you."
"Yeah, that ended well." Dean mutters.
"How did you... Are you okay?" Sam questions, at a loss for words.
Kevin looks down at himself and gives a shrug, "Yeah. I mean, you know, given the circumstances."
"Yeah, I don't mean to interrupt. Kind of a plateful here." Chuck says, interrupting the moment before facing the young man, "And Kevin, you've been in the veil long enough. It's time you had an upgrade."
Chuck waves his hand and a bright light emits from Kevin, who's form turns into a soft cloud of white, blue and pink. His soul begins to rise in the air towards heaven before disappearing completely. We all stand there, looking towards the ceiling, happy that Kevin is finally at peace. But then all eyes turn to Chuck, who has a lot to explain for himself.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My eyes remain locked on Chuck, anger seething within me. Sam sits on one of the chairs backwards facing Chuck... God, while Dean sits off to the side on the steps to the library, oddly quiet.
"Okay. So, well, Chuck. I guess we don't call you that, huh?" Sam says, letting out a nervous chuckle.
"I prefer it." He states, and I clench my fist in anger.
"Okay, 'Chuck' it is." Sam says, before looking between Dean and I, "I'm sorry, you're gonna have to give Dean, Avery and I a moment to start to process. We didn't even know you were around. I mean, we knew about Chuck, but we just didn't know about 'Chuck'. I mean, I was hoping that you were around, I prayed and I don't know if they got lost in the spam or-"
