Nathan wasn't much for parties, but when he got the call from Chloe about a party that all the students from school were going to. The party was being held by the frozen lake and everyone was wearing their winter gear to protect from the cold. Nathan just wore a standard black jacket instead of the heavy coated jackets everyone else was wearing.
Currently, Nathan was walking with Clark and Chloe as they just arrived at the party. Nathan looked around and saw what any stereotypical teen party has, alcohol and make-out sessions.
"This is what I love about high school parties." Chloe said. "People will gather anywhere as long as there's illegally purchase alcohol and even the slightest chance of hooking up."
"Weren't you the one that wanted to come to this place and invite us?" Nathan asked with a smirk.
"Yeah, but I didn't think it would be so cold. It's like twenty thousand degrees below zero out here." Chloe said as she hugged her jacket close.
"I don't know, it doesn't feel that cold to me." Clark said.
"Are you from an ice planet? It's freezing." Chloe said as she couldn't believe anybody couldn't feel cold in this weather. She then noticed that, just like Clark, Nathan wasn't wearing that much winter clothes either. "Oh don't tell me you don't feel cold either?"
"Oh I feel it, but it just doesn't bother me." Nathan said simply. T was true, since the spirit of the Rider his practically his own inner furnace to protect him from freezing conditions.
"Whatever, I'm gonna go thaw out by the fire." Chloe said as she walked over to one of the many fire pits.
"I'll join you, I'm not that much of a party fan." Nathan followed.
Clark watched them go before feeling someone tap on his shoulder. He turned around and saw Sean Kelvin behind him. Sean was by all accounts 'a dog' when it comes to the female gender. All he cared about was leaving behind a trail of broken hearts to almost every girl at school.
"Hey Kent, your friends with Chloe. Is she flying solo tonight, or is she here with Cross?"
"There not together, but trust me Sean, you're not her type." Clark said bluntly.
"Well, you'd be surprised." Sean said arrogantly as he walked up to them.
After Chloe and Nathan sat down, they just hanged by the fire having some marshmallows and some root beer. They talked about some fun times in their life, from Chloe's life in Smallville to Nathan's time when he used to live in New York.
Chloe laughed at one of his stories. "He really said 'excelsior?!" Chloe said while laughing.
"Hey, it was very catchy." Nathan defended. "Stan said it all the time in his comic book shop, and it was a very catchy slogan."
"Sounds like quite the interesting guy." Chloe said with the smile.
"Trust me, interesting guys come and go, but there is only one Stan Lee." Nathan said with a fond smile.
"Any friends your own age back in New York?" Chloe asked.
"Well there is Matt, his father was a boxer, but he died not that long ago." Nathan said sadly. "He was shot after his latest win and they still haven't caught the killer. Matt was pretty shaken up by it."
"That's horrible." Chloe said with sadness.
"Last I heard, Matt's doing okay. Another friend of our, Foggy Nelson, offered him a place to stay and he's been telling me in our conversations that he hopes to be lawyer someday." Nathan explained.
