chapter one - mate?

I woke up to my alarm clock doing my usual morning routine which consisted of me taking a shower, brushing my teeth, styling my hair, etc. It was 6:50. I had exactly ten minutes to get to school. Let's just say I don't work well under pressure...

I grabbed my bag in a hurry then managed to slip on one of my shoes. I was going down the stairs in a rush while trying to put on my other shoe nearly falling down the stairs. Once it was fully on I entered the kitchen.

A note on the fridge immediately caught my attention.

Dear Leanna, I left some money on the counter for when you get home from school. Buy some pizza, I won't be home. I have to work overtime. Love ya.

Ps: Try not to be late for school.

Too late for that. I looked at the clock on the stove. 7:01AM. I quickly grabbed my car keys while walking out the front door. After locking the door I got into my car, started it, and headed for school.

I entered the front office out of breath and panting. By the time I reached school it was 7:20AM. Yes, it took me nineteen minutes to get here. Don't judge. Once I had parked my car I had to run to the front office and quickly get my late slip to avoid missing first period.

I got my late slip and speed walked to my first period class, English. I hated being late. Everyone stared at you as if you'd just commited murder. I handed the teacher my late slip then took a seat in my assigned seat.

"Leannaaa." My best friend, Trinity whispered from behind me.

Meet my best friend, Trinity. She's fierce, and will go off on anyone she has to. She's overprotective, but sweet nonetheless.

"Shush." I told her.

After a few moments of listening to Mr. Reeves boring lectures I felt a small piece of paper hit the side of my head. I turned around to see a smug looking Trinity. What was she up to?
I squinted my eyes at her then turned around. I picked up the crumbled piece of paper and read it.

Were going out tonight, it's your 17th birthday and I want to celebrate.

The bell rang and everyone including me and Trinity gathered our stuff and left the classroom.

"So what do you say?" Trinity said flashing me a grin.

I thought about it for a moment. My mom is working late tonight, I just need to be back by at least 11. Im not taking any risks.

"I'm in." I said with a smile.

"Perfect." She squeled.

"I can pick our outfits. Were going to look hot, trust me." Trinity said.

Trinity had a great sense of style. She was beautiful with perfect tanned skin, hazel eyes, and silky chocolate brown hair. She had guys drooling over her.

The bell rang and we went to our class period's. The rest of the day went by pretty fast. We drove to Trinity's house and started to get ready.

"Where exactly are we going?" I asked her raising one of my eyebrows.

"To a club..." She said chuckling nervously.

"A club?!" I shouted.

"How would we even get in? We're not even 18." I asked.

"I already thought of that." Trinity said a smirk making it's way to her lips.

She pulled two fake ID's out of her pocket.

"Where'd you get those?" I asked snatching them out of her hand and exaiming them.

"It's a secret." She whispered in a joking manor causing me to roll my eyes.

"Are you sure they'll work?" I questioned.

"Positive." She replied.

"Now stop worrying about that. We need to focus on getting ready." Trinity explained.

She searched through her closet pulling out a spaghetti strap v-neck  red dress that was about knee length. The material looked soft and it had one slit. I gawked at the dress for a few seconds before snapping back to reality.

"This is what you're wearing." She said sending me a wink.

"Spill anything on it and I mean anything, I'll kill you." Trinity said flashing me a smile before tossing me the dress.

"I think I get the idea." I said rolling my eyes.

She turned away from me and began searching for a dress of her own.

"Oh and you can pick out your own shoes." She said.

"Okay." I replied.

Trinity pulled out a long sleeved emerald green dress that ended at about the floor.

I picked out a pair of beige colored pumps while Trinity picked out some simple black heels. You know what they say, go big or go home.

We got dressed, did our makeup, and styled our hair.

We both curled our hair. I did a simple look. Only using some black eyeliner, clear lip gloss, and highlighter. Meanwhile Trinity had fun caking on her makeup.

We both stared into the mirror admiring ourselves and each other.

"We look hot." I said with a grin.

"Agreed, now we should get going." She said grabbing her black purse.

"You got the ID's?" I asked her.

"Mhm." Trinity answered.

Since I didn't know the directions Trinity was going to drive. She started the car and we headed to the club. Once we reached the club we parked and entered the line which was surpisingly short. Trinity handed the bouncer her ID, he examined it for a few moments making me and Trinity look to each other nervously.

He handed Trinity back her ID. She grinned giving me a thumbs up. I handed him my ID and as our eyes connected I began to bite my lip causing him to blush. He handed me back my ID after looking at it and then allowed me to pass.

I immediately felt a rush of adrenaline as me and Trinity entered the dance floor. I cheered then began to dance wildly to the music. We had bearly been in here for two minutes and Trinity had already found a hot guy to grind on. Lucky bitch.

I noticed a blue eyed brown haired hottie looking my way. I did something I wouldn't normly do, I winked at him causing him to walk my way.

My wolf began to howl excitedly. What's she doing?

"Mate." My wolf said.

What? Suddenly the hot guy I winked at grabbed my shoulders and I noticed his eyes widen.

"Mate." He growled leaning in for my neck.

What the fuck is happening? I tried running but all he did was pull me back into his arms. He leaned in and bit my neck causing me to let out a screech. It hurt. I felt dizzy, like I was going to throw up. He let me go, finally. The room was spinning, I could no longer see Trinity. Suddenly I stumbled back falling onto the hard floor.

I saw black.
