I was sitting close to you today.

Well, it should be the other way round. You were sitting close to me today.

Or were we sitting close to each other without our very own knowledge?

I was staring at nothing, too conscious of you next to me when I heard you say this. "Do you want to use my earphones?"

I was startled. Were you actually speaking to me? Did that mean that you liked me?

"What?" I asked. My heart beating so loud I was afraid you could hear.

And then you said. "Please, help me put my earphones at the table next to you?"

Did I hear you wrong the first time, or did you change whatever you had said to me?
