"Baby all I want for Christmas is youuuuuuu.." Stiles belted at the top of his lungs, dancing with ornaments in hand, as he sang, while the pack watched him in amusement.
The pack was piled in the Hale house, some sitting down chatting, stringing popcorn, while others were decorating the house, both the inside and outside. Everyone knew it was Stiles' favorite time of year because he got into the holiday spirit much quicker than everyone else, but nobody minded because they knew that when he went overboard, it was to keep himself occupied so thoughts of his mom wouldn't flood his mind. It's been 14 years, since he lost her at the age of 7, yet each year when the holiday season came around, it was still a hard pill for him to swallow. Luckily he had the pack and it filled the hole that threatened to drown him in sadness. He was truly blessed to have such a wonderful family in his life.
"Okay guys, I need some of you to please go out and buy a few things for dinner tonight and some more ornaments for the tree and lights for both the tree and outside the house. So who wants to go?" Stiles asked, while turning down the music so they could hear, even if they were werewolves, it was a nice gesture.
Hands shot up real fast and Stiles just shook his head and laughed at the fact that they all wanted out.
"Fine. Lydia, Allison, Malia, Kira, and Erica, girls, I need you to please go shopping for some more ornaments and lights because with the boys just putting them any and everywhere, then it's best we buy some more pronto," Stiles said, while pointing at Jackson, Scott, and Liam, rushing to put the ornaments on the tree, like it was a type of race. Lydia and the girls, bundled up and ready to go, nodded and strolled out the house, heading to both her and Allison's cars.
"Boyd, Issac, Aiden, Ethan, Danny and Peter, please go buy the following things and only the following things," he pointedly said, turning to look at the twins and Issac, who groaned aloud, but with a quick look from Stiles, shut it, "Boyd, sweetie write this down please. I would like 5 packs of chicken breasts, 4 liters of soda, get a variety that you know everyone will drink without complaint, 3 cookie dough containers for chocolate chip cookies, a package of cookie sheets, 6 hot chocolate mix boxes, a couple of graham cracker boxes, 4 bags of marshmallows, two bags for tiny and the other two for large, and some milk, for those who want some of my eggnog. That's it," at the sound of eggnog, everyone looked up from what they were doing because they all knew that Stiles' eggnog was no joke and although it's a secret recipe he has told no one, it was totally worth everything and more.
Boyd nodded and looked around to check if the boys were ready with putting on their coats, when he was satisfied, he grabbed his car keys and tossed Peter his, and they headed out, leaving behind Jackson, Scott and Liam, who were watching them go with sad expressions on their face.
"Guys," Stiles called, breaking them out of their reverie, "don't worry, I have a special job for you boys, but you can't tell anyone about it until you've finished. Okay?"
Stiles had never seen werewolves nod their heads any faster. They looked like robotic bobbleheads, set to lightning fast. They rushed to get their coats and rush out the door, but a sharp, piercing whistle had them frozen where they stood.
"Your job doesn't have anything to do with going out, It's the opposite and you're staying in but before you complain, know you'll love what I'm asking you to do," Stiles said in a calm but stern voice, which had the wolves whimpering in submission.
"You guys are gonna wrap up all the gifts and as a reward you're all gonna get the chance to open up one present each, but by no means can you tell anyone what you've gotten. Do you understand?" Derek said with a slight growl in his voice, standing behind them. The 3 boys shook their up and down fast as hell, so as not to upset the Alpha, "Good. Now head on up to me and Stiles' room, and go to our closet. Now I don't mean our closet that has our clothes and stuff, but the one you all know not to go into. This once, you three have permission to go in, get the gifts, wrap them all up, then you'll be presented with your gifts. Go," Derek said, turning away, but before the last word came out of his mouth, the wolves were pushing and shoving each other to get upstairs.
"Stop shoving each other. You're all going to the same place. Idiots," Stiles said, rolling his eyes, but turning towards the stairway, he knew that they heeded his comment.
Sighing, Stiles turned away and looked at the mess that was all around the living room, overflowing into the dining room, due to the preparations for the holiday. As he was bought to bend down though, a hand snaked around his waist, lifting him up and turning him around.
"Der. I have so much to do before everyone finishes up with everything they were sent to do," Stiles whined, laying his head against Derek's chest, all the while Derek still had his arm around Stiles' waist, and decided to let his other arm join the former.
"I know Sti, but before everyone arrives or the three musketeers upstairs finish up, I have a small gift I want to give to you, away from their prying eyes," Der softly whispered into Stiles' ear.
Stiles picked his head up from his favorite resting place and looked into Derek's gorgeous eyes and could see the silent plea there, to let him do this so Stiles nodded his head, and waited as Derek pulled something from his jeans pocket.
Bending on his knee, Der presented the small red velvety box to Stiles, and slowly opened it up. Inside was the most beautiful thing Stiles ever saw, and he let out a silent sob, because inside that velvet box was a gorgeous ring that had a small version of the triskelion and in the middle of it, was a stunning princess cut chocolate diamond, that twinkled in the light, appearing the same shade as Stiles' amber-colored eyes.
"I present this ring to you. The man I have fallen hopelessly in love with. Who on my worst days, I can come home to and silence can be our language because you seem to understand what I'm feeling and going through. You have given me the most precious thing in the world, and that's your heart, Stiles. Sti, I promise to love you until my dying days and I will make sure to never, ever hurt you because it would be like I'm hurting myself. You're my guardian angel who was somehow able to come down to Earth after all the tragedy I have endured, to give me love because you believed I deserved it even when I didn't. I want to thank your mother too because she made you, the light of life, the root of my happiness. Through all the tragedy you've endured yourself and yet you grew to be this selfless man, who puts others before himself. Please make me the happiest man in the entire universe and say you'll have me for everything I am. Stiles, will you marry me?" Derek asked softly with such emotion, that half-way through his wonderful speech, Stiles was full on sobbing because the man he loves bared his soul to him so wondrously, that he just couldn't help it.
By now, the pack had returned from the things they were asked to get, and the three boys who were still in the house, had come down, standing absolutely still as they witnessed the precious moment in front of them. They stood in awe and everyone felt such powerful emotions, and tears were in their eyes (even Peter, although he might deny it).
Bending down to the man kneeling in front of him, Stiles began to say, "Der. I could less about your words and the ring," hearing that Derek visibly shook and felt a tremendous amount of anguish and when he tried to move, and a hand grabbed his wrist, and brought him. Feeling a hand under his chin, Derek slowly looked up and saw Stiles, still with tears in his eyes, hiding a small. "I'm not done Derek. I could care less because in all honesty, all I have ever wanted was you, you big ole softie. Also to answer the question, everyone's dying to know my answer to... I say YES!!!" Stiles exclaimed.
A howl erupted of Derek at the words that came out of Stiles' mouth. Standing up, he grabbed Stiles up and captured him in a overwhelming kiss. In the background, as they were kissing, the pack was going nuts because of what they witnessed. Jumping in joy at the fact that Stiles said yes. Derek pulled away from the kiss long enough to take the ring out of the box, and slid it onto Stiles' finger where it sat perfectly.
Before Derek could pull Stiles back in for another sweet kiss, Stiles whispered softly, for only Derek to hear and said, "All I want for Christmas is you, idiot."
Laughing at the lyrics said to him, with a slight ad lib, Der pulled Stiles close and landed another kiss on his mate's, now fiancé's lips.
In the back of his mind, all Derek could think was hallelujah that Stiles said yes, and thanked his lucky stars that he found the one for him. It was truly going to be an wonderful, amazing Christmas.
