I walked inside the church, and walked up to the lady checking people in the the funeral.

"Name?"

"Madelyne Karen Rose" the women glanced at me and checked the book before shooting her head back up, and looking at me like I was a god.

"Oh sweetheart, go ahead, I'm so truly sorry for what happened to your mother..."

"It's alright, you didn't do anything to cause this, it's not your fault!" I forced back on my smile, and she was on the verge of tears by the end of my sentence.

"Oh, you brave soul, I'm sorry" she said dabbing a tissue in the corner of her eye. I nodded and walked in with rose as she kept my hand clutched with hers for support, it really is great to have someone here for me. I walked around the corner to almost run into Kamie. She stopped and so did I as she looked behind me to see Rose.

"Oh, look you finally figured out your a lesbian? I'm so proud of you, we were just leaving this pathetic party..."

"Hey, bimbo it's not a party it's a funeral, but people with only an IQ higher than 1 would understand that, but sadly you don't qualify, now get out of my mothers funeral before the cops take me away for shooting you..."

She looked shocked and flustered with embarrassment but I kept my cool facade up. She was so mad she picked up her arm and back handed me. I didn't show any pain cause it didn't hurt, my head whipped to the side, and all I did was sigh and turn my head back to her.

"Are you done? Cause you can leave now"

"How dare you tell me to leave Madelyne! Karen was like a mother to me!!"

"Oh really, well she wasn't LIKE a mother to me, she WAS my mother! So don't you dare try to tell me your in pain, and that your suffering Kamie!"

She was stunned, with her eyes big, and her face pale, and she was almost scared? Maybe she was just tired or something.

"Madelyne I..." before she finished that sentence I cut her off.

"Go"

"What?"

"I said go, before I do something I'M gonna regret, just... go Kamie...leave me alone..." she was upset, but she nodded her head, with her minions following her. Thankfully she listened to me for once, and left.

I looked back at Rose, to see she was smiling at me, like a mother. Like a sister. "I'm proud of you, Madelyne, you handled that very professionally"

"Thank you rose, truly thank you" she nodded her head as we continued along, further into the rooms. Finally we had walked into the main room, with my mothers casket, and on perfect time to since everything was starting. We watched as the priest walk up to the pulpit, and smiled at everyone as he began to talk.

"Good evening everyone, thank all so much for showing up to this lovely, amazing womens funeral, I won't say much just yet, because first let's have someone so precious to Karen talk. Everyone welcome up Madelyne..."

Everyone turned their heads to look at me, meanwhile I had took a breath and walked up to the pulpit and stared at everyone else, in the pews.

"I would like to begin with saying thank you everyone, so much for coming and thank you so much, father David; on be half of my mother, I shall commence this celebration. Yes I said celebration, because this isn't a funeral for my mother, this isn't a place to grief and cry for her, this is a place to celebrate her getting into heaven! This is where we smile and think about all the lovely moments with my mother that we had, or when she would laugh and smile at us. My mother was a lovely women, and yes she's gone, and yes she won't come back. But that doesn't mean that we should just sit here and be sad, she wouldn't want that. Instead let us all stay here together and celebrate my mothers lovely life, and all the memories we had with her!" Everyone started to clap and applaud me. And I smiled, a real smile. Not one of those fake bitch smiles, a genuine smile, because I was proud of myself, I said all those lovely things about my mother, I did. No one else.

I took a few seconds and bowed to the people before stepping off the pulpit, and walking back to where Rose stood. She smiled at me, like she was so proud of me. A look my mother often always gave me. I felt tears prick the corners of my eyes, but I held them in and hugged her. She seemed surprised at first but hugged me tightly after registering what happened. Rose has been here for me, and I am forever grateful for what she has done for me.

I pulled away from the hug the same time she did, and we laughed at our synchronizing. We walked around for a little, looking at all the people being happy instead of sad now, and how they were all taking and interacting with each other about memories they have with my mother. We kept walking until Rose got a call and she went outside to answer the phone call, while I helped everyone out, since we had to start closing up.

I was stacking chairs, and folding table when Rose came in, looking rather anxious, I looked at her confused but she only grabbed my arm making me drop a chair in the process and try to drag me out the back doors. I didn't understand so I grabbed the wall forcing her to stop and asked her

"Rose, what's going on?"

"We have to go Madelyne come on"

"What, wait why?"

"Madelyne NO TIME COME ON!!"

"NO TELL ME!!" Rose was shocked to hear me yell at her, but then looked like she wasn't looking at me anymore. So I did what any sensible human would do and I turned around...
