Journey

The Avengers, wonderful brave selfless people. Great hero's. Lost, gone, disappeared... Having the slightest thought about them is just nostalgia now.

Three years, absent from the events happening all over. An organization called Aleumdaun Gieogdeul -I don't even know what the company name means- are bad news and people.

They do things beyond what words could describe. Encourage riots for wrong causes, and support company's that cover up their illegal doings. Transporting drugs, weapons of mass destruction, along with platoons of soldiers from some unknown place.

It's like the world's just crumbling right before our eyes. But most just don't notice, care, or worry. And that's sadly pathetic.

I work, or I should say worked as a rigger and welder. Working shut down jobs on power plants in nearby states. Along with a few jobs dealing with cars. A freelance mechanic overall.

I'm fresh out of highschool most would say. I graduated two years ago. Making me nineteen. I had a scholarship to the University of Wyoming. I originally wanted to get a degree in Environmental Science. But, things turned out differently for me, I worked away during the time I was suppose to attend.

I'm an older brother to one of two younger sisters. The youngest never made it the first year of this. This being, an apocalyptic scenario which I couldn't protect her in...

-

I am one of those people. Taking my younger sibling to a safe spot. Under the order of my dad who claims he and mom will be safe meeting up with us at a safe base. I think I have my hopes up too high.

-

We were currently walking along the highway near a gas station. With a few abandon car to crash in for the night. Maybe some stale food and old water was left for us unintentionally. But, that's fine since it's based on survival.

Grey -my sister- and I saw a white truck, maybe a 2500 4x4. We gave each other a familiar glance. Nodding, we walked towards the rustic vehicle, tossing our backpacks in the bed of the truck.

"Journey, I'm gonna check in there." Grey motioned to the torn down gas station. Glass littered everywhere, with broken beer bottles, gun shells, and faded torn newspapers.

Nodding at her, she smiled, saluting with two fingers. Before leaving, I toss a pocket knife from my pocket at her,
"Think fast."

Yelping in response, she dropped it, catching it half way down,
"Alright, I'll be back."

"Yeah, watch where you step!" She nodded jogging towards the dim store. I sighed feeling drained. I look through my bag check how much supplies we had along with knives.

-

"JOURNEY!!!"

Hearing Grey's scream, I drop whatever was in my hand. Sprinting into the store, I switched my head from place to place quickly,
"Grey! Where are you!?"
