“Nat, something’s wrong, I need to go,” I speak hurriedly.

“Please, just take care,” Natasha replies.

“I will, you take of yourself too,” I say.

The thing about Natasha is that she just has a specific skill set. It’s not that she can’t express her feelings it’s because she cannot apply them to the situations she’s in. Natasha is human like you, me and anyone.

I look down at the ground through the gap that Natasha and I came through. I look up at Nat and give her a small smile, I then jump down and land crouched. I quickly sprint towards where Steve is.

As I reach Steve, I see some men from Loki’s army fighting him. Over the sounds of bones breaking I shout out,

“Need some help?”

He briefly takes his eyes off the man he’s fighting and then smirks. I feel butterflies in my stomach, although you wouldn’t really picture a smirk on his face, it’s…well there’s no other way of putting it –a turn on-. He quickly whips his head back and grabs one of Barton’s men by the arm and slams him to the floor.

I look down the railings and then back at Steve. He nods and follows me; I jump over the railing, landing with my legs bent and my hands up protecting my face. I walk on ahead, stopping every now and then to check around corners.

“So, how about a date?” I nearly jump at his voice, forgetting that he was behind me.

I stop abruptly in my tracks. I swivel around and raise my eyebrow up. My heart leaps as I realise what he just said.

“A date?” I nearly stutter out.

He chuckles. “Yes, a date…would you like to go on one?” He slightly flushes as he says it.

I study his face, for any hints that scream he’s joking but I finally realise he genuinely means it. I giggle with giddiness but cover it up with a cough. A date, with Steve Rogers? I think I’ve just died and gone to heaven somehow.

“It depends…” I say, toying with him.

“On what?” He asks.

“I could have some missions,”

“No, you don’t,”

“Oh really…how do you know?”

“Fury said it,”

“Right,” I say drawling it out “because Fury sticks to his words.”

Silence. I immediately regret my words, I could’ve just yes. Why do I always mess things up? I need to stop with the ‘jokes’. Great going Annie!

“A simple no would’ve given me a hint,” he says dejectedly.

“Steve,” I whisper, taking a step forwards towards him. He looks down at me, I gasp as I see the hurt in his eyes. I swallow and walk right towards him, until I am standing just under his left shoulder.

“I would love to go on a date with you,” I utter before I tiptoe and place a kiss upon his cheek.

His eyes immediately light up and he wraps both his arms around my petite frame. I wrap my arms around his neck and give him a smile. He grins back and dips his head down and kisses me. However I push him away.

“You know…we may have to neutralise a threat on a hijacked hellicarrier?” I say grinning.

Steve nods, grins and pulls me in for another kiss.
