Charles's POV ]

"Pfft dude you should've seen her face" I chuckled, amused by how the girls we passed are gawking at us.

I know I'm hot, don't drool.

"Hey you wanna get some ice cream?" Brandon inquires beside me.

I nod. We walked into Gregg's Creamery and heard the bell on the door ring softly.

"We'll have one vanilla cone and an orange sorbet please." I smile at the blonde girl behind the counter. I winked at her, making her blush even more.

it's too easy..

We take the cones from her and I purposely touched her hand. Winking again, she gasp softly, then ran off back into a small room behind.

Brandon chuckled. "That was entertaining."

"Yeah," I smirked, amusement lacing my words.

When I turned around to find a booth to sit in, I spot this brunette, alone at the corner booth of the shop.

I hear soft sniffles. oh god, is she crying?

I resist the urge to walk closer to her, but failed.

As I got closer, I realised her eyes are puffy, her tiny cup of ice cream almost completely melted. It's untouched.

"Hey.." I just stared at her. "Are you okay?"

"Uh-uhm, yeah I'm fine thanks." she looks away from me and I frown.

"You're crying." I state, simply observing her.

woah she's.. pretty.

Her caramel hair fell around her shoulders as she sobs quietly. Her eyes a dark shade of green, glistening from the sunlight through the windows. I refrained myself from running my hands through her hair.

"Hey C!" Brandon's voice startles me.

ugh.

I ignored him and turned back to the girl.

"Are you studying me or something?" she asks quietly.

I gasp slightly. The volume barely above a whisper. Her voice sounded so soothing and calm. I could listen to it all day.

stop staring Charles, it's creepy. Besides, someone like her won't be stupid to go out with a fuckboy like you.

I sigh heavily. Not answering her question but instead walk away towards the bunch of girls Brandon is talking to.

I plastered a fake grin and winked at them. They swoon immediately.

hey, I can't help myself too if I were them. haha, arrogant much?

When we cleaned up n left, I took a quick glance back at the brunette. She sits there, staring at me. Just staring.

I cocked my head to the side, wondering who the hell was this girl. I wave ever so shortly, smiling to myself when she gives me a wave in return.

whew, that was awkward. wait.. OH SHIT. I forgot to get her name OR her number. ugh you dumb nuthead, Charles.

When I turned my back once more, she was gone. I shrug it off, but still unable to stop myself from thinking about her. Although, one question still rings repeatedly in my head.

who is she?

Maddison's POV ]

Who's this..

A brown haired boy about my age walks through the door with a blonde dude. He starts placing his order and when he smiles, the dimples on his left cheek shows a little. oh he's cute..

He winks at Mia, one of the girls that goes to Velvestone College who works here.

My heart drops slightly and I frown, confused by the sudden affect he has on me.

am I jealous? what the fuck? I barely know this dude and I'm jealous?? wow my hormones must hate me alot more this season huh?

I chuckled softly, sniffling.

After the break up fight I had with Dylan, I drove to my comfort place, Gregg's Creamery.

Before my mom and dad passed, they always took me to an ice cream shop back home whenever I get upset or frustrated. That was nearly 12 years ago.

Tears starts coming down as I reminisce when my parents were alive and healthy.

I'm turning 20 next month. are you guys proud that I made it this far?

I flinch when I spot someone walking towards the booth I'm sitting in.

oh, it's him..

"Hey, are you okay?" that cute guy asks.

I widen my eyes a little, immediately turning away from him. I don't want him to see me like this. I quickly wiped my tear-stained face with the back of my hand.

"Uh-uhm yeah I'm fine, thanks." I reply quickly, trying to hide the uncertainty in my voice.

I avert my eyes on the table, not wanting to meet his beautiful blue ones.

gee maddie, you just broke up a 2 year relationship and now your practically checking out some hot guy at an ice cream store? not cool .

"You're crying" he states, which, I admit, startled me a little.

I opened my mouth to answer, but no words came out. I didn't know what to say to him..

Suddenly, the blonde guy he came with shouted for him.

"Hey C!"

I finally looked up and watched as he turns to look at his friend. Part of his hair falls over his eyes a little and I resist the urge to push it back. Don't even get me started on his mezmerising eyes.

back it up a little Maddie.

He ignored him and turns back to face me.

"Are you studying me or something?" I giggle softly, wanting to lighten the tension.

Instead, all he does is frown and walk away.

huh.. weird

I stare at him, confused to my core. I observe as he walks to a bunch of girls and starts flirting with them.

I get why they swoon.

a guy like him won't like you Maddie, your own boyfriend cheated on you! you weren't enough!

I sigh. As he started walking out the door, I looked at him one last time. He waved, and I waved back. Then I picked up my phone and left.

The question keeps me distracted all day.

who is he?
