Everything was going fine after that night. Dynasty was home more and Mani saw her parents genuinely happy together. We woke up together, ate breakfast together, watched movies, made love. It was perfect. That was until the home wrecker came back into the picture a few days ago. I overheard a conversation between the two and my blood was boiling. I was honestly fed up. I packed a bag and left with my child. I thank God Imani didn't know what was going on.
My phone rang next to me and I quickly declined thinking it was Dynasty. It was actually my play cousin, Day. She was always in and out of jail and for that reason we always lost touch. I was surprised when I saw her number was the same. I called her back and it rang twice before she answered.
"Cousinnnn"
"Hey day, wassup?" My voice cracked. I sounded like a little boy going through puberty.
"Look, I know it's short notice, but it's a party at our old spot on the hill tonight. Everybody gon be there. You gotta come out." I did need a night out, but I had no one to watch Imani.
"Sorry cuz, I don't have a babysitter." I shrugged.
"You can't think of anyone that could keep lil bit?" I had a few people in mind, but they were all connected to Dynasty. I did not wanna run into her today.
"No I'll just go another time. Thank you, though." She got quiet. That wasn't normal.
"Where are you? Send me the location." With that she hung up and after fifteen minutes I followed her orders.
Dynasty
"She won't answer the phone, Roman!" My aunt was making the situation worse by asking stupid questions. It had been days since I last saw Imani and JoJo. She just left without an explanation and I was worried about my girls. I couldn't eat and I definitely wasn't sleeping.
"I am not about to do this with your ungrateful ass. You can find her by yourself if you gon act like that." With that she left the room and I was all alone.
After two hours of nothing, my phone dinged with a text message.
Rel~ you coming with us to the hill tonight?
I wasn't in the mood to party, but he wouldn't take no for an answer. My lifelong best friend, Rel, always got what he wanted. I wasn't about to waste my time and energy arguing with him. He told me that his newest girl and her friend were meeting us there and I had about two hours to get ready.
I hopped in the shower for about thirty minutes and brushed my teeth. I finally decided that I needed some food in my system after coming to the conclusion that JoJo and Mani were most likely safe and this was a result of my disloyalty.
After getting ready and eating, I had forty five minutes to spare. I decided to watch the last few minutes of Menace II Society and scroll through my Instagram feed. There was nothing interesting on there, so I locked my phone and tossed it next to me on the couch.
Two minutes later I received a post notification. It was from JoJo. I waited a few minutes then tapped on it and what I saw was infuriating.
