Chapter 2: Uninterested

She takes a seat next to me and look at me and puts out a hand indicating she wanted to shake hands "Hi, I'm Sylvia, but you already knew that" She chuckles.

I look down at her hand and turn back to my phone. She awkwardly coughs and then speaks "So if your name is Nathan does that mean that you're Nathan black? The one I'll be living with?"

She asked with a slightly happy tone "yes I am, hope you enjoy living with me, stay out my room, only talk to me if you need something and not for company and don't question what I do, got it?"

She looks at me with a slightly concerned look but quickly hides it "uh okay then..." she looks down with a sad look and says something quietly, the only words I could make out were 'wanted' but I didn't really care.

The teacher says after class "Nathan, could you show Sylvia around during break? She doesn't know her way around school and since you'll be sitting next to her for the rest of the year it would be good to show her."

I sigh and say sure before he leaves and our history teacher comes in 2 minutes later.

She tells us it's a study period and to not be too loud when talking. I stick on my earphones and start listening to Blake and his song Satan's plan while texting Erin.

After about 20 minutes she says she has to actually do some work or she'll get in trouble, she leaves and I feel a tapping on my left arm.

I see Sylvia and I take off my earphones. "What is it?" I say in an aggravated voice "some boys in the back corner in the class tossed this note to me and told me to give it to you."

She hands me a crumpled note and it reads "Hey Nathan, Sylvia's hot, so back off and be a good dog and listen as always. love, your best friend"

I look at the back corner and see jack, I hated jack. A lot. There has been times where I almost lost my chill but he always stops before he takes it too far. I rip up his note, walk to the bin, throw it in and walk back to my chair and listen to my music again.

When history ended, break started and I had to walk Sylvia around school because of Mr Harrison. I tell her to hurry up and follow me, she quickly puts her stuff in her bag and catches up to me.

"Here's the cafè and the school shop where you can get practically anything. Up these stairs lead to the 3rd floor where science and the computing labs are. On the bottom floor is where the art, P.E department and cooking class is. This floor is the, basic classroom are for normal classes that don't require anything special. And there's your tour, hope you enjoyed it, see ya"

I start walking away and she grabs my wrist and stops me from leaving

"Thanks for the tour, I uhh was wondering if I could join you for lunch since I haven't made any friends yet"

I turn back to look at her and I tell her "Don't try and be friends with me, you'll be an outcast and everyone will avoid you, and get your hand off me before someone sees and starts rumours" I yank my hand back and start walking away from her. "annoying"
