"GIRL WAKE UP!" Said a female voice. I couldn't understand who it was since I was still half asleep

I slowly opened my eyes to see my best friend, Brynn Rumfallo. I looked to my side to see the time when I read 10:36 am.

"Oh shit, Brynn I'm so sorry!" I said as I sprung out of bed instantly.

"It's fine I know that Maddie used to wake you up every morning." The blonde said with a face of sympathy.

"Whatever, there's no time to be sad. We need to get to school."l said, sweeping away my frown and heading to my closet.

Some people ask my how are you not upset or depressed. Well I've been dealing with sympathy all summer and for the past two months. By now I'm sick of people feeling sorry for me.

"So what are you wearing for school today, Miss Mackenzie?!" She said in a sudden peppy tone.

"Today I'm wearing a red long sleeve crop top, black high waisted jeans, and of course my Vans!" I said as I ran to my bathroom to get changed.

Once I was done I quickly did my makeup routine and just brushed through my long brown hair with my fingers, and very quickly brushed my teeth.

I walked out of my bathroom to see Brynn playing dead on my bed. Her eyes then slowly flickered open once she felt my presence in the room."Thank god you're done, I feel like I've been waiting on your bed for centuries!" She said as we walked out of my room and heading downstairs.

"It's  literally only been like fifteen minutes?" I said as we exited the house.

We quickly ran to her car and Brynn started driving as soon a possible once she saw the time.

"Kenzie time?!" She asked as she zoomed once the light turned green.

"10:51! About 10 more minutes until they call our parents!" Once those words came out of my mouth she quickly drove into the school parking lot.

We quickly raced into the building right as the bell rang, signaling it was time for second period.

"Bye Brynn!"

"Bye Kenz!" We said before parting ways since we didn't have this class together.

"Johnny Vincent Orlando! Opening the fucking door before I have bust it open!" My father yelled, we've been fighting for weeks due to the fact the I haven't gone to school in 3 weeks. He's been having to write excuses to the school.

It's just to painful to see all the familiar faces. All familiar faces that knew Maddie.

"Stupid boy! You can't lock yourself in your room over Maddison! She's dead, move on!"
