Howlingpaw stormed back into camp. She was in no way going to let Minnowpaw be right! Especially not now that she had put up such a fight about it. Howlingpaw walked into her mother's den, ignoring a few weird looks on her as she walked in.
"MooooM!!!!!" She called
"this den is small! You dont need to announce your presence so loud!" Sunstar shook her head and rubbed her ear.
"fine, sorry. I have a VERY important question. And i want an honest answer." She said sternly and sat down in front of her mother.
Sunstar sighed, knowing exactly what was coming. She sat down as well and prepared her answer when the question came after she asked, "Yes?"
"Who is my father? I would like to know."
Sunstar nodded to herself, expecting that to be the question. "You have to promise not to tell anybody. Not even your brother. Okay?"
She nodded, concerned a little.
"Your father is... he is Wolfstar." She confirmed with a sigh.
"he is!? Dangit! Minnowpaw was right." She grunted
"Your not upset with us, right?" Sunstar asked, making sure everything was going to be okay.
"yeah. What is done is done. I can't be mad about it. That wont change anything. I just didnt want Minnowpaw to be right. He has such a... smug smile. And its so, uh, annoying? I guess."
Sunstar raised a kittybrow and nodded, happy that nothing was going to be a problem as she pulled her kit close and licked her forehead, "Thank you for understanding."
"of course mom! I love you." Howlingpaw purred.
"Don't say anything to him if you see him yet. I dont want to make this a huge deal since most cats dont know except us."
"Does uncle Batty know?"
"Yeah, he does. But he isnt happy. Don't go tell him, i dont want him to be in an even worse emotional mess than he already is. But he is the best deputy i could ever ask for."
Howlingpaw nodded and padded out of the den and into her own, flopping into her nest and falling asleep.
