Third Person POV
Levi was in the middle of reading a book that he already gone through twice when he heard a rather enthusiastic knock ringing from the door. He wondered who that might be, given that it is already 7 in the evening. A certain messy woman popped up in his head. Giving him a reason not to open the door since the woman will just barge in herself. As he predicted, after a couple of knocks the doorknob clicked and in she go.
"Hi Levi!" She waved her hand as she came into view.
Levi raised his head up and what he was faced with brought tingles to his nerve. "You look like shit." He said as he scowled. Hanji's disheveled appearance consisted of her lab coat, which has stain varying in different colors, her yellow button-up shirt has splatter of oil stains, and her face has a smudge of what seems like grease. Levi didn't bother to figure out what that might be.
"Can't help it, I went directly from my lab." She glanced on her wrist watch. "Figured a certain midget will be mad if I came in a little late." She said as she shrugged.
"Sure, you're a little late." He retorted giving an emphasis on the word little. He snorted, "You're late for hours." He glared at the doctor. He stood up from his bed and went over to his small cabinet that contained personal cleaning supplies. He opened it, scanned the layers and grabbed the wet wipes as soon as he saw it.
He went back to his bed and threw the box to Hanji. Startled, she barely caught the wet wipes and grinned at Levi. "Can't handle your clean fetish, huh?" She went to the small mirror on the bathroom and went out while rubbing a sheet on her face.
"Don't want to interact with a person who looked like she had a fight with a fucking slime."
Hanji let out a boisterous laugh at that. Just as Hanji was quieting down Levi asked, "What are you doing here by the way?" He said monotonously.
"Another session." She said as she took out the temple device for him to see. "It's late though, so we won't do any heavy activity. Instead-" She took out a answering sheet from what Levi could see far away. "you, are going to answer these." She continued as she put the sheet on Levi's lap.
Levi picked it up and observed the writings. He saw numbers upon numbers, mathematical signs and that was when he realized, the doctor wants him to solve impossible math problems. He thought how was a lawyer supposed to solve a mathematician's problems. He was not a genius like her. Fuck Math.
"What the hell are these." He said giving her eye contact. "I will not answer those."
He tossed it back to her. Hanji raised one of her eyebrow. "You don't want to answer it or you can't answer it?" She said rather mockingly.
"The last time I solved Math was fucking years ago." He said, voice laced with annoyance.
"In that case, I'll teach you!" She concluded, giving a clap of her hands.
They spent the first half hour teaching the other. Much to Hanji's surprise, Levi was a very fast learner. He just needed guidance in some of the complex numbers. As much as Levi appreciated her teaching, she kept on talking even when he wasn't asking her a question. The topic ranging from who invented Math to how you turn a gas to solid. He didn't know how the conversation evolved into that, but he listened to some of her rambling nonetheless.
