Chapter One: Wendy
Neverland had always been home for John.
Of course, he still had dim memories of his parents, but he had chosen to leave them. He dimly remembered their beloved family dog, and Mother. Mother had been lovely, and Father -while having a ridiculous temper- had been fantastic. But he was sure of one thing; after seeing Neverland, nothing could compare, so when Peter had visited them after a sudden fit of forgetfulness, they had grabbed onto their chance to leave.
Now, he was 'advisor' to Wendy, or Mother as she insisted everyone -but him, Peter and Michael of course- call her.
"Now what was it you wanted again?" Wendy stepped into his small hollowed out room of bark, gently pressing the back of a fake pearl earring to ensure it wouldn't slip, "I haven't got all day, Peter and I will be taking the children out."
John smiled at the thought of the Lost Boys traipsing after Wendy -who adored playing Family- and having a picnic by the lagoon, "I was wondering if Michael and I could have a meeting with Hook?"
Wendy smiled prettily as he had seen her practice in front of a mirror many times -her smile could be many things; pitiful, supportive, girlish, womanly, powerful, but the one thing he had never seen it be was genuine, and although he certainly wondered why, he left the matter alone, "Of course you may. Thank you for asking."
Remembering she liked good manners, John bowed, waving his hat about in what he supposed to be a gentlemanly fashion, "Anytime, my Lady."
She giggled, and with the wave of a hand dismissed herself from the plain trunk of Jon's tree.
Jon pulled his skins, -thankful that when Wendy learned to stitch new clothing she had done his sets last- pushed his cracked glasses up his long nose and muttered to himself before hurrying out behind her, "Michael will be pleased."
