Chapter 4

AIDENS POV

It's been three days and I'm still trying to get myself together and go ask about his birthday.I've tried to totally avoid him in school.just seeing him with Amy makes my wolf howl in pain and he's more than happy with me not being around.the only time I get to see him is when we have the same classes.

I stared at Ryder who was sitting in front of me.my wolf growing more and more impatient by the minute.I guess I was staring too hard because as soon as the bell rang he turned around with an annoyed look.

"I can practically feel your eyes burning into me.if you want to say something just spit it out"he snapped

I debated weather or not I should just ask him but I thought otherwise when I saw his glare.I wasn't able to say anything as I looked down and played with my finger.I expected him to continue his rude remarks but he went quiet.when I looked up I was met with shocked eyes.

"Are you okay ?"he was observing me with furrowed eyebrows"you look a little pale"he said while he lifted his hand to my face.

if he touched me I was sure I was gonna lose control.I jerked away and my body stung everywhere at the distance that was created between us.the table fell with a loud crash at my movements.if I looked at him now I would've surely broken down so I ran.I ran out the classroom out the building into the parking and got in my car.taking deep breaths I calmed myself down.I had to find out and I had to find out now.I made my decision as I drove to hunters pack house.when I reached their part of the woods I could feel my heart rate getting faster.I parked my car as I got out and made my way to the alpha (AKA Ryders dad)but his beta stepped in front of me right as I was about to open the door

"don't try anything funny"he raised his eyebrows and glared at me.

"You're alpha isn't a pup and I would be an idiot to challenge him.I want to keep breathing see it's quite important If I want to live" he gritted his teeth and clenched his fists at my little remark but got out of the way.

I knocked at the door and opened it as I heard the loud ENTER.the house was similar to ours the alpha was sitting and rose to his feet as soon as he saw me his mate came down the stairs and as soon as she saw me she gave me an icy cold stare that made me tense up but i was an alpha too so i accepted the challenge and we had a full on stare contest until the alpha cleared his throat

"so what business do you have with me?"he demanded

"I came here to ask you something"i stated still not breaking eye contact.he sighed impatiently.

"well then let me lead you to my study"he said while coming in between his mate and I breaking the staring contest.he led me up the stairs to his study while I could still feel the eyes of his mate glaring at me.

 wow his mother really hates me i wonder how much hes told her about me

he waited for me to come inside and shut the door before sitting down at his desk with questioning eyes.I felt myself relax i don't know why but i felt at ease around him.

I took a deep breath."I.....I umm wanted to.....ask when will Ryder turn 18 ?".I felt myself growing uncomfortable.

"why do you want to know ?".his voice was dangerous.I looked up at him with pleading eyes.the last thing i wanted was for him to question me.when he saw the look in my eyes he relaxed a little but still waited quietly for my response.

I thought deeply for a right answer before saying."he'll tell you himself when the time comes".

he looked as if he was silently debating weather to tell me or not.at last he decided i was not posing a threat.

"tomorrow"

my eyes widened in shock as i felt my body feel heavier"tomorrow ?".I whispered hardly believing it.

he stood up suddenly and startled me.thinking he went towards the door mumbling"but i don't think he'll be home tomorrow".

with that he opened the door and called out to his mate while i felt as if all the air was sucked out of my lungs i could hardly breath.

if he wasn't going to be here tomorrow he wouldn't even realize that i'm his mate.

he was standing in the hallway now shouting"where's Ryder and when's he coming back ?".

"don't you remember he's leaving with Amy today after soccer practice.he'll be back tomorrow night."she replied as we both made it down the stairs.

my body was now beginning to shake.my head snapped to the clock.the time was 3 pm and his practice ended at 4 pm and it would take me almost an hour to get there.I lost no time as i shot out the house heading straight to my car as i sped towards the soccer ground running through a few red lights.I parked my car as i jumped out and ran towards the field where i saw some players hanging about but Ryder was nowhere to be seen.i spotted his soon to be beta Tyler and ran upto him.when he saw me approaching he narrowed his eyes.

"where's Ryder ?"i demanded.

"why do you want to know ?"he said smugly crossing his arms over his chest.

"just tell my where he is"i said clenching my fists.i didn't have time for this.

"and what if i don't"he challenged.my patience was running thin.I pushed his shoulder roughly.he lost his balance and as he fell i stepped on one of his legs making him hiss in pain.my anger was seeping out when someone shouted.

"he went to his car"

i let him go as i ran towards the parking leaving behind an angry Tyler shouting at his teammates.
