Abby's POV

I shift in my bed as I hear my alarm screaming in my ears. I reach over and hit the snooze button. My eyes open and I sit up in bed. I look around my tiny apartment and walk over to the bathroom. I splash cold water on my face and pull out my toothbrush to brush my teeth. I brush my teeth as I slip into some ripped tight jeans and put on a fitted shirt which I threw a University of Washington hoodie over that. I put on a bit of perfume and deodorant before I went and rinsed my mouth.

I grabbed my backpack, my phone, my charger, my earbuds and my laptop. I put everything in my backpack and walked out to the kitchen. I slipped on my dirty Adidas tennis shoes and hike my backpack up on my shoulders. I grab my keys and head out. I lock the door and quickly walk down the hallway and stairs. It would be my first day back at school in two months after I attempted to kill myself by jumping off a bridge.

"What's up, pig?" I stop short at the second to last step. I turn my head and see Mariah Park staring at me with a smirk.

"H-Hello.." I say quietly while I look at her.

I quickly walk out and I take out my phone and earbuds and quickly plug them in. I put my earbuds in my ears and pull my hood up to prevent the light drizzle of rain from getting my hair wet. Cars zoom by me as I walk on the sidewalk to campus. It was currently winter, so it was a bit colder and it was the time of year it rained most. Out of the corner of my eye, I see a limo drive by and onward towards the campus. I didn't pay any attention to it and kept walking within the crowd of people heading to school or work.

I make it to the art department and head to my first hour class. I sit down in the second front row and pull out my materials. Professor Kirkland walked in and gave me a smile. I smiled back. This middle aged man was the only nice thing about school besides the classes themselves.

"How are you doing this morning, Miss Michaelson?" He asked as he sat down at his desk.

"I am decently okay, a little tired, but I'm here for class. How about you, Mr. Kirkland?" I ask politely as I logged onto my computer.

"I am great! You know why? Because my baby girl was born on Saturday!" I gave him a toothy smile and nod my head.

"Congratulations!" I say as more students begin to walk in.

First and second hour went by very quickly and I couldn't believe it was already third hour. I stopped at a Starbucks and ordered a simple coffee with cream and sugar. I walked over to the technology center because I took a class that specialized in digital art. As I walked toward the building, I noticed a black limo in parked in front and I tilted my head.

It looked like the one from earlier and I just thought of it as a coincidence. I entered the building and walked towards the computer lab I usually worked in. I was zoned as I was listening to music and staring at the ground while holding my coffee. My stupid brain didn't notice all the females gawking and standing to the side as well as the males. I looked up too late and bumped into something solid and hard, making me fall flat on my ass and spilling my coffee on my floor and whatever I bumped into.

"Ahhhh...." I hissed as I rubbed my elbow and looked up. My eyes widened and my lip quivered. There in front of me was Ezra Blackwood, the CEO of Black Technology and on his white shirt was some of coffee. Whispers fill the air and drift towards my ears, making me shrink.
