My name is Alex. I don't always think straight. This has been happening for twenty one years now. All of my life. The only time when I can think normally is when I think of my dream place. A two story house, surrounded by nothing but woods and rolling lavender hills that go on and on for miles in what I find the most beautiful country in the world.
I know that it sounds weird, but it's true. Sometimes it is all that I can think about. As if maybe I was meant to be there.
It's raining right now. It's raining as I'm driving my little red car. I love the rain. Rain, art, nature/dogs and Ireland. I know that I sound like a basic girl that you would find in a movie that's in your DVD collection; but there's more to me. I think.
It's only an hour long drive from my house to the airport. There are only two things that I will miss from that trashy town, my friends and my mom. Nothing else. Besides my moms house. Unlike all of the other houses in that town, my moms house was built by my dad. Not in a ' i'll hand build you house with my own HAAAANDS' way but in a ' I have designed and paid for your house. Love you' type of way. I wish I had that blueprint, then I could have the same house in Ireland. So I could have something familiar where i'm going, but nope. For now i'm gonna live with a friend I met online; who just happens to live in Ireland. I've met her before, before she moved there.
About three years ago me and Sammy met in real life. Four years ago we met in a dating app that had accidentally made us a match. We both thought that it was funny how even though we both put ourselves as 'straight' in our bio and still ended up as a match that we decided to talk. Things went well and now she's one of my closest friends. Thankfully, she has a big house with an extra room for me. Now in two days I will be unpacking and hanging out with Sam.
"You're crazy for going alone."
"I'm not alone, I've got Sammy."
"And you've only met her like three times in real life."
"For your information, me and Sammy used to hang out all the time before she moved."
"You sound like a twelve year old." This is an example of some of the conversations that me and my Jason have. I love the guy but he can be a little suffocating.
"So do you."
"At least i'm a reasonable twelve year old."
"Look, Jason. I have don all of the things to assure that i'll be fine. I already have a job up there."
"Fine. Do you promise to call when you get there and text me on the plane?"
"Of course. Bye Jason."
" Bye Alex. Take care." END OF CALL. Rain. I love the rain. When it rains you can stay inside and binge your favorite show, draw , read, or even take a nice long drive the next segment of your life. Sammy says that it doesn't rain much up there but I guess I just have to see for my self.
