The fanfic is written in Lance's point of view, I'm sorry if you notice any grammatical errors, I suck at checking if everything is written right haha)

-

I've seen it all. The popular kids smoking cigarettes behind the dirty school grounds, the poor kids stealing coins so they could buy strawberry flavored lollipops and give them away to the popular kids in order to kiss their asses and be accepted into the crew, I've seen nerds collecting their homeworks and refusing to share answers with others and above all, the real friends who bake you cookies and laugh at your jokes even when they aren't that funny.

Or funny at all.

I've seen girls, brushing their long hair they care so much about, applying so much lipgloss you wouldn't dare to lock your lips with theirs and girls who don't care about the looks, who don't care about the stereotypes and hide their personalities behind big, dusty books.

I had all kinds of friends.

After all, I am Lance McClain. The energetic, extroverted loverboy, the guy who flirts with every pretty girl, who gets good grades, who gets accepted in famous programs and the luckiest guy in the world.

I've seen it all.

But I've never seen a boy who cried.

A pure angel, who's huge, strong wings broke and they're marked with dark stains

A skinny, fragile body hiding behind his own insecurities, where all he had to do was open his eyes. Open his eyes and take a good look in the mirror.

Perhaps then, he could see what I saw a long time ago.

An angel.

I had always been curious about the mullet boy, Keith.

So curious, that in fact, I always wondered what he's doing. Because the mullet boy didn't fit in. He was something I've never seen before.

He didn't fit into any of the groups I labeled.

Keith.

His name was Keith.

Keith was different. Maybe the word 'different' is something that pulled me forward, that made me follow him. Maybe it was just faith. Or maybe, he was my white rabbit who's always in a hurry, always far ahead of me.

And I followed. Every step he'd take, I followed.

So I could pick him up if he falls down or takes a few steps back. I'd be there.

But when my angel fell into the dark, black hole, there was nothing I could do.

I remember one day, we were watching a sunset together. He sat next to me in silence.

Neither of us could say a single word, since we were so obsessed with the view in front of us. Golden rays of sunshine breaking into the horizon, striking our weak spots and making us sigh in pleasure. The pleasure of the view.

It was the first time I was thankful I could see.

Soon, I heard silent sobs.

''Keith?''

He wouldn't answer, so I turned around.

Tears were slowly running down his face.

''What's wrong?''

Silence.

I couldn't understand what was going on. There was nothing I could compare to this situation I was in .

''I'm happy'', he said.

'' If you're happy, then why are you crying?''

A chuckle escaped his lips. '' I'm in love. ''.

I knew he wasn't talking about a person. Maybe then I knew, it was all over. For Keith, my best friend, my secret crush and the love of my life, the world crashed. The end came.

Neither of us could say a word, although, in retrospect, I wish I did.

I wish I hugged him tight and screamed, '' Please! I love you! Please! ''.

But the things we loved, we had to let go of.

An angel like him deserves to live in the Wonderland, the place he would be treated right. The place where he could feel love every day, the place he would look at the sun every day and smile, laugh.

I didn't understand it at first, but then I realized- that was the first time Keith felt happy.

Keith...

He was always far ahead of me. And I couldn't do anything to catch him falling. Because, he wasn't falling. He was running forward. Running forward to eternal happiness.

( Third POV)

The silence fell across the room, as no other words were heard but Lance's.

No one coud even breathe, falling into the trans of words and emotions, a memoriam and sorrow.

Pidge lowered her head, Shiro let out a single tear and Allura closed her eyes.

Rest in piece, angel.

May the Wonderland be the perfect place for you.
